The Xbox has a new dynamic background feature available to those who are a part of the Xbox Insider program. The team behind the Xbox Series X is continuing to find ways to better the experience for its Xbox gamers, and the newest change is a simplistic yet elegant live background it calls "Motes."

The new background breathes some fresh life into the Xbox UI. Recently Xbox released a suspend feature that allows downloads to move faster while still utilizing the Quick Resume feature as well. This new "Motes" dynamic background, however, would lean towards the luxury and aesthetics category more so than something functional, but that does not mean it does not look sleek.

Eden Marie is the Engineering Lead over at Xbox. She recently sent out a few Tweets sharing the new "Motes" feature that Xbox Insiders can take advantage of right now. The dynamic background is all black with relaxing and vibrant lights that move around slowly on screen. As an added bonus, the color of the lights changes with whatever the user's profile color is. Although "Motes" is live now for Xbox Insiders, it will likely come to all users in time.

When Major Nelson celebrated his 20th year with Xbox, he let it be known that the company had a motto that it still uses to this day; "Always fall on the side of the customer." Whether it be services like Xbox Game Pass, massive acquisitions, or simple dashboard or feature improvements, Xbox appears to make moves that focus on improving the experience for the gamer. That has created goodwill over time that fans have appreciated, and that is worth something.
