Microsoft is offering up some limited edition, pizza-scented Xbox controllers in honor of the latest Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. The crime-busting reptilian heroes in a half-shell are set to return to the big screen in a big way next month in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, a new animated film produced by Super Mario Bros. Movie voice actor Seth Rogan. This will be the seventh theatrical TMNT movie and will feature Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as they introduce themselves to the human world, which they soon must defend from a mutant army.
The Turtles have been a pop-culture sensation across virtually all forms of entertainment media for almost four decades, including video games. Many TMNT fans have fond memories of the old Ninja Turtles 2D beat-em-ups of the early-to-mid-90s, and these classic titles were recently rereleased in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection. A brand-new TMNT game in the style of these older brawlers was released last year in the form of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, which is set to receive additional DLC in the near future.
Now Xbox is giving away some special-edition Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Xbox Series X/S controllers to play these games on as part of a promotional giveaway for Mutant Mayhem’s release on August 2. According to the official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account, these custom controllers are not only designed after the Turtles and the green ooze that created them, but also come with an attachable pizza-flavored scent diffuser. For a chance to win one of these limited Xbox Series X/S controllers, players have to follow the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account and retweet the announcement post with the hashtag “XboxTMNTMoviesweepstakes” by August 13.
