The date has finally been set for the launch of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. Amid all of the announcements made during this morning’s surprise Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendo officially announced that the game will be released on May 29, confirming leaks from last week.

Many remember the original Xenoblade for its memorable cast, MMORPG-style combat, and unique, massive world (not to mention the grassroots fan movement to get it localized, Operation Rainfall), and soon they’ll be able to re-experience the 2012 Wii JRPG like never before on the Switch.

In addition to updated graphics and smoother visuals, the Definitive Edition will sport a refined combat HUD, improved menus, and over 90 remastered music tracks. Additionally, the Switch version will offer all-new content in the form of a new story add-on called Future Connected, which will serve as an epilogue to Xenoblade Chronicles' main story focusing on Shulk and Melia.

Outside of the game itself, Nintendo confirmed that it is now available for pre-purchase ahead of launch day. Along with the base game, May 29 will also see the release of the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Works set, which will bundle the game with a 250-page artbook.

Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition comes out on May 29.
