Summary

  • Xenoblade Chronicles X, a Nintendo exclusive, appeared on a Microsoft PC webpage, confusing players.
  • Fans speculate about a potential PC launch for Xenoblade Chronicles X, but it's unlikely.
  • Most likely the listing was in error.

Xenoblade Chronicles X has been found on a new list of PC games for Microsoft Edge Game Assist. The game has remained a Nintendo-exclusive title for years, so the inclusion of Xenoblade Chronicles X has perplexed some players.

Monolith Soft's Xenoblade Chronicles X first launched in December 2015, exclusively on Wii U. Although the game became quite popular among RPG fans, the low-selling Wii U slowed it down compared to other releases at the time. However, in March 2025, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition was released on Nintendo Switch, bringing the sci-fi adventure to a bigger audience ahead of its tenth anniversary. Now, Xenoblade Chronicles X has surprisingly appeared on a new listing for a different platform.

Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition shows how alien worlds can feel alive, dense, and dangerous in all the right ways.

As spotted by NintendoLife, Xenoblade Chronicles X has been listed on a Microsoft PC webpage as a PC game compatible with its new Microsoft Edge Game Assist. This feature was launched on May 29 and lets players look up guides and tips while playing certain PC games. "Many popular PC games are already enhanced for Game Assist, with more on the way," reads Microsoft's description. Aside from Xenoblade Chronicles X, the listing features some major recent titles, like Metaphor: ReFantazio, Split Fiction, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. However, the appearance of Xenoblade Chronicles X has taken players aback. Monolith Soft is fully owned by Nintendo, but neither company has announced a potential PC release. At the time of writing this article, the game remains at the end of the list. It is worth noting that the title doesn't mention it's the Definitive Edition.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Found in Microsoft Edge Game Assist's PC Listing

Some players have reacted to Microsoft's listing and believe it hints at a future PC launch for Xenoblade Chronicles X, though that is very unlikely. Others have deemed it an internal mistake. Interestingly enough, Xenoblade Chronicles X does not appear on the Spanish version of Microsoft's Game Assist website. Other games missing from the international list are 7 Days to Die and WWE 2K25, so this might be a slip from Microsoft's side. On the other hand, there are rumors that Xenoblade Chronicles X could land on Nintendo Switch 2, since the Definitive Edition added a 60 FPS mode that doesn't perform well on the original Switch.

The Switch edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition presented several changes to the story, enhanced graphics and combat mechanics, and even new characters. Fans appreciated these changes, as they gave the game a more modern feel adapted to current video game trends. Whether the game gets a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrade remains to be seen.
