Netflix dropped a trailer for the second half of You season 4, and it looks like things are about to get even wilder for Joe (Penn Badgley). Now that he's met his match, it seems like Joe has to self-reflect and face a ghost from his past: Victoria Pedretti's Love Quinn.
Netflix's You decided to split its fourth season into two parts. You season 4 part 1 premiered on February 9, with its second part set to follow one month later on March 9. The fourth season finds Joe in London, where he's taken up a new post as a Professor of Literature. As Jonathan Moore, Joe found a new obsession: Kate (Charlotte Ritchie), an intelligent young woman who runs an art gallery.
In the new You season 4 part 2 trailer, Joe struggles with his attraction to Kate. While she seems keen to pursue something romantic with him, Joe realizes that he cannot be with her, though he finds the idea tempting. Complicating matters is Joe's discovery of the "eat the rich" killer, Rhys (Ed Speleers). Rhys appears happy that he's found Joe because he views him as someone who can finally understand his murder spree, but it looks like Joe isn't reciprocating those feelings.
Set to a melancholic rendition of "(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me," the You season 4 part 2 trailer also features the return of one key character. No, Jenna Ortega hasn't made her You return, but it looks like Love Quinn (Pedretti) is back. Although Love was killed by Joe last season, she makes her triumphant return in the trailer, acknowledging Joe's incredulous reaction with a simple, "Hi, Joe."
Love's return might not necessarily be in flesh and blood. Though You's newest entry may surprise fans and bring her back, it seems like a pretty big twist to spoil in the trailer. Joe has previously had hallucinations of his former victims and even had full conversations with them, so that may be what's happening here. Rather than seeing Love, he may see Love's "ghost" inside his mind, judging and condemning him.
Though Joe shows some contrition in this new You season 4 part 2 trailer, nothing ever gets through to Joe Goldberg. This is part of a pattern with the character: he frequently shows signs of guilt, but this is usually an act. Joe cannot wash the stains from his hands. At this point, Joe's been involved in more murders than any other character. Love's apparition won't save him, but it'll be good to see Pedretti, a fan favorite, on the show again.
You season 4 part 2 premieres on Netflix on March 9, 2023.
