Fishing returns in Ys 10: Nordics and offers multiple rewards for catching fish on various islands throughout the game as they become available via exploration and progressing through the main story. Fishing becomes available in Chapter 2 when the party reaches Termina Island . A cutscene with Grenn and Dr. Asrad begins, and from that point on, you can start fishing on the island and a spot inside the first cave on Termina.

How To Fish In Ys 10: Nordics
Fishing will become available when the party crashes into Termina Island, and there are already a few fishing spots to use when learning. The first is available on the beach, but the others are hidden inside the dungeons. Keep a look out for circulating fish to cast the rod. However, before fishing, Adol will need some fishing bait. This can be purchased from general stores in towns or from the ship's general store when Monina joins the crew in Chapter 4. With the rod and some bait, use the following steps to catch fish:
- When near a fishing circle, select the Action button.
- Select Fish and cast the line.
- With the bait in the water, wait for the fish to take a bite, then mash the X on PlayStation, A on an Xbox Controller and the Steam Deck, or B on the Nintendo Switch until the red bar is full.
- If the green support bar is full, the fish may get away before you reel it in.
- Watch for the button prompts, such as moving the L-Stick or directional buttons, and then stop mashing until their indicators disappear.
How To Get Rewards From Fishing
After defeating the Greigr in Chapter 4, you can report your fishing results in the ship's common room by interacting with the table. Adol will receive rewards from Dr. Asrad. When out in the open sea, open the Action Menu, select 'To the Common Room,' and approach the table. Here, select Prepare, Report Results, and Report Fishing Results.

Ys 10: Nordics is a seafaring game where Adol and his crew must explore the open seas, islands, and dungeons across the sea. It's a fairly open experience that opens up from Chapter 4 onward. For the most part, you can explore and locate all the fish for the rewards and obtain the 'A-fish-ionado' Trophy/Achievement.
