The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is filled to the brim with shrines and shrine puzzles. There are a grand total of 120 of these in the base game, and there are 17 more included in the DLC. For those looking to complete every shrine, side quest, and puzzle this Zelda has to offer, they will need to solve a kind of obtuse puzzle called the Sign of the Shadow.

Kass gives players a song that hints at a missing, hidden shrine, and players will need to solve it. This shrine puzzle can be obtained from the Gerudo Tower in the Gerudo Highlands part of the map.

Players will need to climb the Gerudo Tower in order to claim this puzzle. Kass, the singing Rito that can be found in several spots all over Breath of the Wild's map, will be up there. He will be playing his accordion and puzzling over the song his mentor passed down to him, chatting with him to learn the song and get the shrine quest. The song goes like this: "As light shines from northwest skies, from the tower's shadow an arrow flies. Pierce the heaven's light to reveal the prize."

How to Complete Sign of the Shadow in Breath of the Wild

In order to make the shrine appear, look down to the south off of the Gerudo Tower in the direction Kass is looking. There is a small platform on the ground there that players will be able to see from the tower. Fly down to the platform.

Once there, players will need to use a bundle of wood and a piece of flint to build a fire. Thankfully, this puzzle is in a part of the world where it never rains, so no one should have a problem keeping it lit. Next, players need to sit at the fire and pass time until noon. The "light will shine from the northwest skies" at 3PM, so players will need to stick around for 72 seconds until the clock in Breath of the Wild hits 3PM.

For the time between around 3 and 5PM, the platform will light up with an orange glow. Once the platform is lit, players will need to aim their favorite BotW bow into the sky directly at the sun. Shoot an arrow, and the platform will activate. This will bring Sasa Kai Shrine up from the depths.

Missed the daylight time? This puzzle can also be completed when the moon is in the northwest, casting the long shadow from the tower onto the platform.
