Stepping out into Hyrule for the first time in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of those special moments in gaming that really stops players in their tracks. There's a whole gloriously cel-shaded world to explore that's full to the brim with discoveries and secrets to uncover, heroic quests to complete, and devious dungeons full of puzzles to conquer. There are tons of weapons, shields, and bows to collect. Unfortunately for Link, however, the default inventory is a little on the small side.

That is until players meet a particularly large, leaf-bearded Korok called Hestu who just wants to dance and shake his maracas. After speaking with this strange plant person, he'll task Link with hunting down his brethren and recovering Korok Seeds from them. Gather enough and Hestu will perform a magical boogie that'll expand Link's inventory. Problem solved! Except there are 900 seeds to find from all across Hyrule... And while some are obvious, below is a list of the trickiest Korok Seeds to collect.
5 Bridge of Hylia
That's Not Where Tree Branches Grow

- Hidden underneath a suspicious Tree Branch.
The imposing stone bridge crossing Lake Hylia near the start of the game is teeming with unexpected secrets. There's loot to acquire, enemies to fight, towers to climb, and even a shrine tucked away close by. There's a surprising amount to discover, and Link will need a few stamina upgrades to find everything.
Hidden among the cracked stone and overgrown plants are a few cheeky Koroks hoarding some of Hestu's precious seeds. The trickiest one by far is located underneath one of the bridge's supporting pillars on a ledge. What makes this Korok difficult to locate is that it's the only one in the entire game that's disguised as an item - specifically a Tree Branch. Pick it up to reveal the little critter and nab the seed.
4 Seven Heroines, East Gerudo Ruins
Even Statues Think Balloons Are Fun
- Located in between the wrists of the northeastern statue.
- Shoot an arrow at the lone balloon to solve the puzzle.
The Geurdo desert hides many secrets beneath its sands, including plenty of Koroks to locate. Two of them can be found at the Seven Heroines, ancient towering statues of warrior women long past. Link can be directed to this location by a shrine quest, and the first Korok is fairly easy to locate since it's hiding under a conspicuous rock on top of one of the statues.
It's the second Korok where things get tricky. Head to the northeastern statue and look for a single balloon hidden between the statue's wrists. Shoot it with an arrow to reveal the Korok and grab another seed. What makes this one so tricky to find is that it can only be seen from certain angles, and there are no other clues pointing it out - it takes a lot of climbing and gliding for players to discover this one on their own.
3 Lurelin Village

This seaside town's residents have built their cozy huts around palm trees for a really tropical aesthetic - and easy access to palm fruit. And there are so many dotted about that players probably never give them a second thought. But that's where they'd be wrong. Hidden in one of the trees, nestled between its fruit, is a seed-bearing Korok.
If players are looking for it, their first clue would be the very obvious apple suspiciously and inexplicably growing on a palm tree. Just take out Link's bow and fire an arrow at it to find the Korok and collect another seed for your collection.
2 Serenne Stable, Rowan Plain

- Use a horse to jump over all three fences to reveal the Korok.
Old crumbling ruins and the remnants of destroyed towns and villages are littered all over Hyrule. It is 100 years after a devastating war, you know. That said, these shells of civilization make perfect hiding places for loot, monsters, and more importantly, Koroks. Link can find one such ruin near Serenne Stable in Rowan Plain, and keen-eyed players might immediately notice something a bit off.
There are three wooden fences lined up one after the other, almost like some sort of gate-jumping track. To reveal this Korok, just hop on a horse, make all three jumps back-to-back, and grab the seed from him. Outside of a bit of role-playing, horses get less and less useful the more players reveal the map and discover shrines for fast travel. Thankfully, the developers foresaw this and put this puzzle next door to a stable.
1 Cora Lake
The Dark Waters Hide Many Secrets
- Use the Magnesis power to locate a hidden metal block.
- Solve the puzzle by moving the block with Cryonis.
Lakes are great places to relax, take in the sights, and hunt down some Koroks. Cora Lake is no exception. Lurking beneath the murky, still waters is a puzzle that's already quite difficult to see on its own. But when players do eventually spot it, the fun doesn't stop there - it only gets harder. Even experienced heroes struggle to solve this devious riddle.
First, there are metal blocks that blend in with the surrounding stones. Link will have to use the Magnesis power to locate the missing piece underwater, and work his way over to it with Cryonis. Then it's a case of using the two skills in tandem to bring the metal block over to the rest of them and finish the puzzle. It's tricky to do, and even harder to find in the first place. But doing so will uncover the Korok and net Link another seed.
