Summary
- Grezzo co-developed The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom with Nintendo, as confirmed by in-game information.
- Grezzo worked on other Zelda titles like the Link's Awakening remake and Tri Force Heroes.
- Echoes of Wisdom only requires 5.4GB of storage on the Switch, making it smaller than Link's Awakening.
A social media sleuth discovered that the developer of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is Grezzo, and posted proof of their findings for all to see. As the first mainline Zelda game that allows players to control the series' titular princess, Echoes of Wisdom is Grezzo's sixth contribution to the beloved Nintendo franchise.
In Echoes of Wisdom, the land of Hyrule is swallowed up by mysterious rifts that have appeared throughout the land, which result in its denizens, including Link, going missing. After being freed from a crystal prison by Link before his disappearance into a rift, Zelda befriends a mysterious creature called Tri. The entity grants the princess the Tri Rod and the power to create echoes of various objects such as tables, chairs, and blocks of water. Thankfully, Zelda fans looking to pick up and play Echoes of Wisdom will not need too much storage space on their Switch consoles. Echoes of Wisdom will require 5.4GB of storage space, which is smaller than 2019's Link's Awakening remake by about 500 MB.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Details Dampe's Role in the Game
Nintendo gives details on the new role that classic character Dampe will have in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
As details about Echoes of Wisdom leaked online before the game's official release, a social media user pointed out the developers behind the new Legend of Zelda title. Twitter user naetoru60 shared three screenshots from their Switch console that showed Grezzo played a role in the development of Echoes of Wisdom. The information shared by naetoru60 can be found in all versions of Echoes of Wisdom by selecting Intellectual Property Notices in the Software Information tab and scrolling to the bottom. Although Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about the co-developers of most of its titles, the post by naetoru60 confirmed Grezzo's involvement in the new Zelda game.
Who Co-Developed Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
- The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom was co-developed by Grezzo.
- Grezzo previously worked with Nintendo on other Zelda titles, like Link's Awakening and Tri Force Heroes.
- The information was found in the Intellectual Property Notices tab of the game's Software Information.
- Echoes of Wisdom officially launches on September 26.
Considering the similarities between Link's Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom, the news should come as little surprise to Zelda fans. However, the official launch of Echoes of Wisdom will mark the sixth time that Grezzo has worked on the Legend of Zelda series. In addition to Echoes of Wisdom and Link's Awakening, Grezzo previously worked on the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. The studio also co-developed 2015's Tri Force Heroes alongside Nintendo, and created a DSiWare port of Four Swords Anniversary Edition in 2011, which was previously part of the 2002 Game Boy Advance port of A Link to the Past.
Although Echoes of Wisdom still has some burning questions to answer, the mystery surrounding its developer is now solved. Once Echoes of Wisdom is launched, only time will tell when Nintendo and Grezzo will team up again.
