Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Faron Temple 100% Walkthrough
Get Past the Metal Bars
Upon entering Faron Temple through its main entrance, players will find that their way is blocked by a series of metal bars. Zelda fans can lower those bars by stepping on a button on the far side of the room, and they should activate the entrance's Waypoint and then follow these steps to reach that button:
- Exit the Faron Temple, and place a Platboom near the front entrance.
- Use the Platboom to get on the roof above the front entrance, and pass through the door that is forward and to the left.
- Pass through the door on the right side of the room, taking care to avoid the gaze of the spinning blue statues.
- Descend the staircases to reach the button that lowers the metal bars.
Get the Map
After lowering the metal bars, Echoes of Wisdom players should pass through the door in the bottom-right corner of the room. Fans will now find themselves in a room where two Armoses block their path, and here is how to bypass those statues:
- Stand on the left side of the short left wall, and grab the left statue with Tri.
- Jump and hold left to move the statue onto the short wall, and release it there.
- Approach the right statue to activate it.
- Go down and to the left, and wait for that statue to get close.
- Grab the statue with Echoes of Wisdom's Tri.
- Jump and hold right to move the statue onto the short right wall. Release it there.
Beyond the statue room, players will find a room with several moving platforms and three green crystals. The goal here is to activate the three green crystals by placing electrified Echoes near them, and Buzz Blobs and Electric Keeses are great options for this task. Once all three crystals are active, players should use the platform that moves vertically to reach a door that leads to a room with the Faron Temple Map.
There is a ladder in the bottom-right corner of the green crystal room that leads to a 2D area. There is a chest (which holds 50 Rupees) in the water in this area, and players can reach it by approaching the statue and swimming over it as it draws near to the bubbles on the left.
Get a Small Key
With the Map in hand, players should step on the nearby button and pass through the door on the left. Fans will now find themselves back in the room that was previously blocked by metal bars, and they should exit it at the bottom.
Players will now be outside this Echoes of Wisdom dungeon once again, and they should go right to reach a series of spider webs that can be climbed like ramps. At the top of the second spider web, fans will find four Armoses, and they should grab the second one with Tri and move it to clear another entrance into the dungeon.
Players must now set their sights on activating three green crystals, and electrified Echoes (like Buzz Blobs) are once again required for this task. Here are details on how fans should go about activating the crystals:
- Move the crate on the right side of the room, and create a bed in the crate's former position. The bed should extend over the gap to the right.
- Stand on the right side of the bed, angle Zelda toward the crystal in the top-right corner, and hold "Y" to create the electrified Echo near the crystal's position.
- Stand across from the crystals on the left side of the room, and hold "Y" to create the electrified Echo near the crystals.
A chest will appear as soon as all three crystals are active, and there is a Small Key inside it.
Beat Miniboss
Players should now warp to the 3F entrance (the room that initially had metal bars) and use their Small Key to open the locked door at the top of the room. A miniboss can be found beyond that door, and fans can defeat it by placing Bombfish in front of its heads, waiting for it to eat the Bombfish, and then hitting the red orbs on its necks with an attacking Echo or Zelda's sword.
Get a Small Key
Players should now return to the 3F entrance, pass through the door on the left side of the room, and then pass through the door in the top-left corner of the next room. Fans will now find themselves in a dark room, and they should follow these steps to get through it:
- Go down, and enter the shallow pool.
- Go down through the pool, avoid the spikes, and continue downward.
- At the bottom, pass through the exit to the right.
Players will now find themselves in a room with several Armoses and two buttons, and the goal here is to hit both buttons at the same time. To perform that maneuver, action game fans should approach the statue above the right button (to activate it) and then jump onto the left button as soon as the statue comes into contact with the right button. Players should then pass through the door in the bottom-right corner of the room and swim downward through the pool in the next room to reach the Faron Temple's exterior.
Once outside, players should navigate to the right side of the pool and use a flaming Echo (like an Ignizol) to burn the spider webs on the nearby wall. This burning makes it possible to enter a new area within the Faron Temple, and fans will immediately encounter another two-button puzzle.
To solve this puzzle, players should create their own Armos and position it so that it walks over one of the buttons. Fans should then simply jump on the other button as soon as their statue walks over the first one.
In the next room, players must now do battle with an Electric Wizzrobe, and they should use flying Echoes and Zelda's bow to bring it down. Fans should then enter the dark room that is beyond the Electric Wizzrobe's room and use an Ignizol to burn the spider web in the bottom-left corner. Players should then climb down the ladder that was hidden beneath the web and follow these steps to get through a 2D water section:
- Dive to the bottom and go left, using Tri to move the boulders that block the path.
- Use fast water to continue left, and swim up after reaching the left wall.
- Use Water Blocks to create a vertical path to the chest, which holds 50 Rupees.
- Return to the water, and get underneath the Armos.
- Grab the Armos with Tri, and swim left and upward to move the statue into the fast water.
- Swim through the path that was cleared by moving the Armos to reach a ladder.
There is a dark room with three green crystals at the top of the ladder, and players should use Ignizols to light its braziers. Fans can then use electric Echoes (like Buzz Blobs) to activate the crystals and open the door on the left side of the room.
Players will now face another two-button puzzle, and here is how to solve it:
- Remove the stones from both of the moving platforms.
- Create an Armos on one of the platforms so that it walks onto the nearby button.
- Place a Boulder on the second moving platform.
- Stand on the second button, and jump just before the Armos comes into contact with the first button.
After activating both buttons, players should pass through the door in the bottom-left corner of the room and open the chest to claim a Small Key. With that Small Key in hand, players should return to the two-button room to the right, pass through the door at the top, and activate the Waypoint near the Big Key door.
Get the Big Key
Players must now set their sights on obtaining the Big Key, and they should begin by returning to the dark room that they visited just after defeating the Electric Wizzrobe (and just before entering the 2D water section). This time around, adventure game fans should use the ladder at the top of the dark room to reach a 2D section with moving platforms.
To get through this section, players should place two Boulders on the first moving platform. Fans should then walk off the right side of the left platform and use a Strandtula underneath the right platform. This monster Echo makes it possible to climb to the lock block on the right side of the room, and there is a ladder to descend beyond that obstacle.
After climbing down the ladder, and activating the Waypoint at the bottom, players should pass through the open door in the room. Fans will now have another battle with the miniboss that they encountered previously, and it will award the Big Key when it is defeated. Notably, the strategy for defeating this Echoes of Wisdom boss is the same as it was during the first encounter, though players must deal with four heads in this battle.
Get Small Key & Golden Egg (Optional)
Players can now pursue an optional Small Key, which makes it possible to claim an optional Golden Egg. Here are the steps that fans should take to procure that Smoothie material in Echoes of Wisdom:
- Return to the 3F entrance, and pass through the door on the left.
- Pass through the door in the next room to enter the dark room.
- Navigate to the top-left corner of the dark room, and climb the ladder.
- Approach the metal bars on the right.
- Hold "Y" to create two Boulders on the platform to the right of the metal bars.
- Use an Echo to strike the blue device under the left platform.
- Climb the walls to reach a chest that holds a Small Key.
- Return to the dark room, and use the Small Key to open the door on its right side.
- Open the chest to obtain a Golden Egg.
Get Warm Peppers (Optional)
There is one more optional chest in the Faron Temple, and it holds 10 Warm Peppers. Here is how to reach it:
- Return to the 3F entrance, and climb down the ladder.
- Create two Boulders on the moving platform to descend, and continue left.
- Use flying Echoes (or Echoes with projectiles) to defeat the plant on the left.
- Use Beds to create a staircase, and then send a Strandtula through the overhead gap.
- Defeat the plant that blocks the chest, and open the container to claim the Warm Peppers in Echoes of Wisdom.
Beat Gohma
Players should now warp to the Echoes of Wisdom Waypoint that is next to the Big Key door, pass through that door, and fight Gohma. To defeat this boss, and complete the Faron Temple, fans should send an Electric Keese at the three green crystals on its appendages. Gohma will fall on the ground when all three crystals are active, and players should use that opportunity to strike its eye with an attacking Echo and Zelda's sword.
