This article may contain spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom map was revealed at a Nintendo preview event, showing several points of interest around the Kingdom of Hyrule. After the success of 2023’s Tears of the Kingdom, fans are excited to dive into The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s cute design and finally play as Princess Zelda.
Carrying a similar style to The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Nintendo’s upcoming 21st release in the main Zelda series will follow the titular princess as the main protagonist, who must save Link and Hyrule from Ganon by using the Tri Rod. Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is currently available to pre-order, and fans can expect to reunite with familiar races, including the Gerudo, Gorons, and Zora.
Posted by Stephen Totilo on Twitter, the Game File journalist played 90 minutes of Echoes of Wisdom during Nintendo’s preview event in New York City. In addition to experiencing the game’s neat level design and Princess Zelda’s core moves, Totilo also gave the Twitter community a look at the entry’s map of Hyrule. The 40-second clip showed the map’s ancient aesthetic, which is a style often associated with Zelda maps. The video also previewed the main quest, “The Mysterious Rifts,” which explains that Princess Zelda was swept away by an underground waterway to a small cave. It should be noted that this clip showed an incomplete version of the game’s map, as Echoes of Wisdom’s Still World was nowhere to be seen.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Map Revealed at Nintendo Event
The clip also revealed several points of interest in the kingdom that Zelda fans will be able to identify. Hyrule Castle is presumably shown in the center of the map, and Kakariko Village can be identified in the west by the windmills. The giant heart found in the southeast could be the location of The Great Deku Tree, which would suggest the surrounding area is the Lost Woods. If this map is anything like Ocarina of Time’s landscape, the Gorans' region should be located behind Kakariko Village. Furthermore, Echoes of Wisdom fans thought they spotted Lon Lon Ranch in the game’s trailer, and this popular location may be the circuit icon located southwest of Hyrule Castle.
In addition to Echo of Wisdom's launch, September 26 will be a memorable day for Zelda fans for other reasons. Joining the game’s debut, Nintendo will also be releasing a Zelda-themed Switch Lite called the Hyrule Edition. This special edition console comes with 12 months of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership, which offers access to many classic Zelda games.
