Summary
- The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a spiritual follow-up to the Link’s Awakening remake, with Zelda as the main playable character.
- The game features several classic Zelda locations, including the Gerudo Desert and Faron Wetlands.
- Lon Lon Ranch, known for Lon Lon Milk, may make an appearance in Echoes of Wisdom based on recent footage.
Fans think they spotted Lon Lon Ranch in a recent Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom promotional clip. A new entry in the iconic Legend of Zelda series is now only a few weeks away, with Echoes of Wisdom serving as a spiritual follow-up to 2019’s Nintendo Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The classic top-down perspective and toy-like visual style of that game are returning in Echoes of Wisdom, but now Zelda herself will be the main playable protagonist for the first time in the mainline Zelda series.
With The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom’s September 26 launch date drawing ever closer, Nintendo has been showing off the upcoming dungeon crawler in action. This includes showing how Echoes of Wisdom references past Zelda games with classic locations and characters, with previous trailers featuring glimpses of the Gerudo Desert, Faron Wetlands, and Eldin Volcano among others. Eagle-eyed Zelda fans have also spotted the engineer Dampe from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the Business Scrubs, who haven’t appeared in a Zelda game since The Minish Cap back in 2004.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Details Dampe's Role in the Game
Nintendo gives details on the new role that classic character Dampe will have in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom.
Now players think they saw another classic element from previous Zelda entries in a brief The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom video shared on the Nintendo UK Twitter account. Said video features Zelda exploring various areas on horseback, and one of these seems to be the Lon Lon Ranch that first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It appears toward the end of the video, with Zelda jumping her horse over a brown wooden fence into the famous farm. As pointed out by Nintendo Life, this location was previously glimpsed in a previous Echoes of Wisdom trailer back in August.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom May Incline Lon Lon Ranch
Lon Lon Ranch has appeared in several past Legend of Zelda games, including the previously mentioned Ocarina of Time and The Minish Cap as well as the 2004 multiplayer GameCube entry Four Swords Adventures. Run by Malon and her father Talon, the Lon Lon Ranch is known for selling the health-restoring Lon Lon Milk, a valuable commodity for Link during his many dangerous adventures. Both the milk and the farm it comes from are popular among Zelda fans, who have created their own real-life Lon Lon Milk bottles and modded Lon Lon Ranch into games that it didn’t appear in, like Breath of the Wild.
It looks like Princess Zelda could be visiting Lon Lon Ranch for some of its famous milk in the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which is set to launch on Nintendo Switch later this month. It still isn’t exactly clear if the farm spotted in the recent videos is indeed meant to be Lon Lon Ranch, but it would certainly be another fun nod to the franchise’s past for players who have once traveled to the famed farmland in Ocarina of Time and other classic Zelda entries.
