Lake Hylia appears in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, and while there's nothing plot-important to do here, you're likely to stumble upon it while exploring Hyrule or searching for Jabul Waters. If you want to equip more than one Accessory, you should visit the Great Fairy in Lake Hylia to unlock the ability to do so. You'll also notice the large rift on the nearby island. The Stilled Lake Hylia is an optional rift in Echoes of WIsdom, meaning it's not part of the main/story quests. However, if you're trying to max out Tri's level, you'll need to get rid of it.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom – Should You Go to Gerudo Desert or Jabul Waters First?
Whether you tackle Gerudo Desert or Jabul Waters first, both Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom areas are necessary to progress.

How to Unlock Lake Hylia
After you complete the Stilled Suthorn Forest rift, you'll meet Impa's older brother, Lueberry, and begin the next story quest: "Searching for Everyone." You'll need to fix the giant rifts in Jabul Waters and the Gerudo Desert, but you get to choose which one to clear first. If you head north of Lueberry's house, you'll find some pillars (where you get the "Up a Wall" side quest) and new Echoes to learn. Get the Crawltula Echo from the red and black spiders crawling along the pillars. If you face east of the pillars, you'll see a wall with some trees. Beyond the cliff is Lake Hylia. To reach Lake Hylia, do the following:
- Face the rightmost wall and summon the Crawltula Echo.
- Use Tri's Bind ability (X-button) on the Crawltula, then quickly target it with ZR-button, and then hold down R-button.
- If done properly, the Crawtula will scale the wall and carry Zelda with it.
If you're a bit further in your playthrough, you'll likely have Echoes that can lift you over the wall, such as Platboom. However, if you're going to Lake Hylia immediately after the Suthorn Forest rift, then the Crawltula is the best Echo to use.
Swim out to the island with the giant rift, and interact with the golden circle to have Tri open it. You can also activate a Waypoint statue on the nearby island (with the Great Fairy) if you want to complete the rift at a later time. Otherwise, dive in to enter Stilled Lake Hylia.

Where to Find Tri's Friends
There are 3 of Tri's friends in Stilled Lake Hylia. This area is smaller than the rifts with 5 captives, but you'll notice Stilled Lake Hylia has floating masses of water. Thus, you should have some Echoes that can fight in water, such as the Tangler Echo, which you can get in Lake Hylia. You can dive (A-button) and surface (B-button) while swimming.
Tri's Friend #1
The first of Tri's friends are inside the block of water on the third island from the starting point. There are Tangler monsters swarming the inside, so defeat them with Echoes that can survive in water. Another way to get rid of them is to use the Bind ability and pull them out of the water and drop them into the abyss. Once the area is cleared, dive in to rescue the first bundle.
Tri's Friend #2
The next set is east of the long island, which is the next section you'll cross after finding the first group of friends. Use Echoes such as the Crawltula or Platboom to make your way up the next set of islands. The last island is too far away, so you'll have to use Platboom to raise Zelda and dive into the water. Alternatively, you can create a bridge of four beds. The second bundle of Tri's friends is hidden behind a boulder underwater.
Tri's Friend #3
Return to the "long island," and head northwest. There's another section that you can jump into, which leads to a larger "pond" filled with boulders that can be moved with Tri's Bind. Go to the northwest corner wall lined with trees, and dive to enter a hidden tunnel. You'll end up in a secluded part of the island with the last group of Tri's friends. Move the boulder and recover them.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - Big Shot Guide
In Echoes of Wisdom, a River Zora is lost at sea, and it's up to Zelda to bring him back to shore.

How Much Experience Does Tri Get?
Tri will gain a small bit of experience once you clear the rift. It won't be enough to fill a complete experience bar. He'll also give you two Might Crystals that you can use to upgrade Swordfighter at Lueberry's house. As mentioned, Stilled Lake Hylia is optional and thus not required to complete the story. However, if your goal is to raise Tri's level to 11/max, you'll need to clear the rift.
