Automatons are robotic monsters that Zelda can summon in Echoes of Wisdom. After completing the "Still Missing" main quest, you can find Dampe and start the Automaton side quests. If you want an Automaton that can defeat most Echoes of Wisdom enemies in one hit, you should complete "Endless Stomach!" To get the High-Teku Baba. This requires you to show Dampe a Deku Baba Echo and the Steel Trap key item.

Endless Stomach! Walkthrough in Echoes of Wisdom
How to Complete
Head northeast from Hyrule Ranch to find Dampe, and defeat the Crow to recover the Windup Key. After this, you can go to Dampe's Studio and work on the Automaton side quests. Dampe's Studio is north of the Eastern Temple in East Hyrule Field. Another way to reach Dampe's Studio is to head west from Jabu-Jabu's Den, climbing over the trees of Jabul Waters until you reach East Hyrule Field.
You'll need to complete "Automaton Engineer Dampe" and get the Techtite Automaton before you can start "Endless Stomach!" If you've already done this, inspect the journal next to Dampe to accept the three side quests:
- Endless Stomach!
- Chop 'em in Two!
- Performance Artist!
"Endless Stomach!" Requires you to show Dampe a Deku Baba Lv.2 or a Bio Deku Baba. He will also need something with "special bits that have great clamping ability." This is the Steel Trap key item.
Bio Deku Baba & Deku Baba Lv. 2 Echo Location
You can find the Bio Deku Baba in caves where you can swim/dive or the dungeon in the Jabul Waters Rift on the first floor. If you're looking for the Deku Baba Lv. 2, you'll need to go to the Stilled Heart Lake in Faron Wetlands. There are giant Deku Babas in the tall grass. You can also find some in the Faron Wetlands' rifts.
You can use Ignizol or Fire Keese to set the Deku Baba Lv. 2 ablaze; use Chompfin or other aquatic Echoes for Bio Deku Babas. However, the Faron Wetlands are home to Drippitunes, which are frogs that can summon rain with their singing. You'll likely need to dispatch these monsters before you can defeat the Deku Babas with fire. The quickest way to defeat Deku Babas and Bio Deku Babas is to use Tri's Bind ability. Once bound, move Zelda in the opposite direction, and the head of the Deku Baba will pop off. You can then learn its Echo if you haven't already done so.
The regular Deku Baba Echo (yellow head) will not count. You need to show him the Bio Deku Baba or the Deku Baba Lv. 2 Echo.
Steel Trap Location
The Steel Trap can be won in an Acorn Gathering minigame. Go to the western edge of Hyrule, in the Western Hyrule Field between Gerudo Desert and Eldin Volcano. There's a Waypoint statue near an Acorn Gathering man. Speak to him, and complete the Acorn Gathering in under 40 seconds to get the Steel Trap.
You'll need the Platboom Echo to reach the acorn on the cliff. You can use the Crawltula, but this might take longer, and you may not be able to complete it within the required time limit.
To give Dampe the Steel Trap, speak to him, select I want an automaton, and select Endless stomach! You can't make an Echo of the Steel Trap, so you'll have to give up the original to get the High-Teku Baba.

How to Use High-Teku Baba
How Much to Repair High-Teku Baba
High-Teku Baba works just like any other Deku Baba Echo. However, since it's an Automaton, you'll need to wind it up before it can fight. You can summon an Automaton by holding down on the left on the d-pad. If you use Automatons, then you should consider making smoothies with the Twisted Pumpkin ingredient. This will give you a temporary buff that hastens the wind-up time.
If your High-Teku Baba breaks, you'll need to return to Dampe's Studio to have it repaired. The cost is 70 Rupees or 2 Monster Stones.
