The Great Fairy is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series, and she makes a return in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. This time, she won't be granting Zelda magic abilities or upgrading armor. Instead, she can expand the number of Accessories you can wear. Accessories can give Echoes of Wisdom's gameplay some QoL. One Accessory you may want to get is the Might Bell, and you can get it by helping the Great Fairy in "The Great Fairy's Request."

The Great Fairy's Request Walkthrough (Echoes of Wisdom)

How to Unlock & Complete

The Great Fairy lives in a cave on Lake Hylia. You can reach Lake Hylia by heading north from Lueberry's house or west of Zora Cove. She will expand the amount of Accessories you can wear, but for a price. The first expansion allows Zelda to wear 2 accessories for 100 Rupees. Accessory Slots can be expanded up to 5.

If you haven't visited the Great Fairy, you'll notice that there's no side quest marker for "The Great Fairy's Request." In order to get "The Great Fairy's Request" task, you'll need to do the following:

  • Upgrade your Max Accessories to four (totaling 900 Rupees).
  • Complete "The Rift on Eldin Volcano" main quest.

If you've done the above, then there should be a treasure chest next to the Fairy Fountain. Open it to receive a Might Crystal, and the Great Fairy will appear. She'll offer you an Accessory that can detect nearby Might Crystals, in return for a pendant.

To make the pendant for the Great Fairy, you need to warp to Gerudo Town, and speak to the Gerudo woman inside the store. She will then request a Floral Seashell and a Magma Stone, which you can get from the Sea Zora Village (Zora Cove) and Goron City (Eldin Volcano) respectively. When you have both items, return to the Gerudo woman to get the pendant.

Where to Find Floral Seashell

Warp to Zora Cove, and swim through the cavern to enter the Sea Zora's village. Head to the left to the Sea Zora's general store, and speak to the shopkeeper. If you have "The Great Fairy's Request" task, then there should be a red marker over his head. He'll mention having found a Floral Seashell, and he'll give it to Zelda in exchange for an unfortunate smoothie.

You can make unfortunate smoothies by mixing two incompatible ingredients. This is pretty vague, so just combine two Rock Salt to get the unfortunate smoothie.

You can also mix Monster Fangs and Monster Guts for the same result, if you're saving Rock Salt for other recipes.

Bring the unfortunate smoothie back to the Sea Zora shopkeeper to get the Floral Seashell.

Where to Find Mamga Stone

Go to Goron City, and enter through one of the doorways on the first floor. You'll find two Goron shopkeepers: one sells potions, the other sells ingredients. Speak to the Goron selling ingredients to learn where to find Magma Stones.

You won't need to get the Magma Stone yourself, but you're going to need to clear out the Lizalfos Den so that the shopkeeper can dig up the stone. The Lizalfos Den is the exact same den where you and Darston helped the Goron Elders in "The Rift on Eldin Volcano."

Clear out the last room to get the Magma Stone.

How Does the Might Bell Work?

Is It Worth Equipping?

The Might Bell does exactly what its in-game description says it does: It will ring when there's a nearby Might Crystal. While this Accessory is equipped, a Might Bell icon will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen next to the minimap. The bell will radiate a stronger "ripple" and music notes when you're closer to the crystal.

In some cases, you'll notice the Might Bell ringing at its loudest when you're near an NPC. This means that they have a quest with a Might Crystal(s) as a reward, or the Might Crystal is locked behind a minigame (ex: Flag Race at Hyrule Ranch).

There are a total of 150 Might Crystals in Echoes of Wisdom, and a small percentage of these are earned from clearing giant rifts (Suthorn Ruins) and optional rifts (ex: Stilled Lake Hylia). The remaining crystals can be found hidden around Hyrule or, as mentioned, through side quests and minigames. Once you've collected all Might Crystals or enough crystals to fully upgrade Swordfigher Mode, there's no reason to have the Might Bell equipped.
