Players that want to fully upgrade pieces from the Barbarian armor set in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will need to get their hands on Bladed Rhino Beetle. These are not the easiest creatures to find, though, as they do not seem to appear in very many locations. Fortunately, there are some specific areas in which The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Bladed Rhino Beetles are guaranteed to spawn, and this guide is here to point players toward them.

To note, it is recommended that players equip some pieces from the Stealth armor set before heading out to find Bladed Rhino Beetles. For the uninitiated, this armor can be found in the Kakariko Village armor shop (1846, - 0975, 0117), and players can decrease its cost significantly by completing TotK's Gloom-Borne Illness side quest. Alternatively, players can use stealth-enhancing foods during their hunts for Bladed Rhino Beetles, and those are made by cooking with ingredients like Blue Nightshades, Silent Shrooms, and Stealthfin Trout.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Bladed Rhino Beetle Locations

Bronas Forest

Players can find Bladed Rhino Beetles on the trees in the Bronas Forest (1577, -3354, 0060), a location within the Faron region in the southeast quadrant of the map. These insects do not appear in the woods at all times, though, and fans must look for them at night when it is not raining. Once again, TotK players are strongly advised to increase their stealth before they approach the insects lest they scare the beetles away during their pursuit.

Retsam Forest

Restam Forest (3832, -2021,0192) is another location in which Bladed Rhino Beetles can be found, and these woods are very near to Hateno Village in east Necluda. As with the beetles in the Bronas Forest, these only appear at night when no rain is present, and players should plan their hunts accordingly. If a player reaches Restam Forest at a time when one of those requirements is not met, they can always sit at a campfire to rush through some in-game hours.

One final thing to mention is that Bladed Rhino Beetles respawn during Blood Moons, events that occur every seven in-game days. This means that fans that do not collect enough beetles during their first visits to the Bronas and Restam Forests need not fret, as they will have chances to hunt in these locations again. Players that want to expedite the process of summoning a Blood Moon in TotK should once again consider using campfires to quickly pass the time.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on the Nintendo Switch.
