The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, have been hailed as some of the strongest entries in the long-running Nintendo franchise. Between the inventive building system that made Tears of the Kingdom a playground for creativity and Breath of the Wild's introduction of an incredibly detailed open world, these two games have set a new standard for the series going forward.

Since Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, it's not surprising that the two share many similarities. Breath of the Wild introduced some great features to The Legend of Zelda franchise, and Tears of the Kingdom elevated many of those concepts. However, despite the two sharing a general essence, there is one similarity between them that is completely by accident: item duplication glitches.

Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild Both Have Useful Duplication Glitches

In-Game Exploits That Continue to Give Players a Helping Hand

The recent 1.4.2 update for Tears of the Kingdom had some fans nervous, as patches can often get rid of glitches, but thankfully, that wasn't the case, at least this time around. Tears of the Kingdom still features a variety of duplication glitches, and it's truly the gift that keeps on giving. Not only that, but Breath of the Wild still holds these types of glitches, as well, allowing players to duplicate many useful items.

A Breath of the Wild glitch that can give players infinite crafting materials has been incredibly popular in the past, alongside plenty of other exploits, like one that lets players unlock the Master Sword early on in the game. Pulling these types of glitches off can sometimes be complicated, but once they're discovered, it's really hard to go back to playing the game as intended. Exploring the world in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom in order to collect items and weapons is a big part of the experience, but for those who want to streamline the experience a bit, duplication glitches can become essential.

For Tears of the Kingdom, the "split item duplication" glitch is one of the most popular, and many were relieved to find out that it continues to be present in the game after the update. Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild have continued to entertain players years later, and dupe glitches and other exploits can really keep things interesting after putting so many hours into the games.

The Legend of Zelda is set to get its own live-action movie. Originally slated to release on March 26, 2027, it was recently pushed back to May 7 of that same year. There has yet to be an official cast revealed for the movie.

The Next Legend of Zelda Game Remains a Big Mystery

Now that the Nintendo Switch 2 is here, many are eagerly awaiting the announcement of a fresh Zelda game. A reveal is bound to happen eventually, but there isn't any clear indication as to when that will be. There were six years between Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, so Zelda fans may still have a long wait ahead of them before Nintendo reveals the next direction the franchise will go in, since Tears of the Kingdom marked the end of that series.

As the wait for the Switch 2's first original Legend of Zelda offering continues, Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom's ports to the console offer a fresh way to experience the game. Until then, taking advantage of these two games' dupe glitches is well worth giving a try, because they may not be around forever.
