A longtime Zelda fan designs an incredible Nintendo GameCube console inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Nintendo Switch console is home to both The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, and many Zelda fans continue to hold the GameCube's Zelda titles in high regard to this day.

Nintendo's prolific series began with the original The Legend of Zelda in 1986 for the NES, and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom continues the franchise's near 37-year legacy in 2023. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct continuation of 2017's Breath of the Wild as Link sets out on another adventure to find Zelda and save Hyrule from doom. While exploring Hyrule in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, fans may discover unique outfits worn by Link in past Zelda games, including his Twilight Princess and Wind Waker gear. Despite the present lack of GameCube games on the Nintendo Switch Online service, Nintendo recognizes the community's fondness for the GameCube's Zelda entries by featuring Link's classic outfits in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Zelda fan TheJinxx recently designed a Nintendo GameCube console and controller after being inspired by Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. TheJinxx began their work on the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom GameCube console by sanding down the console and controller shells with a super fine grit paper. After cleaning the console and controller, a can of Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch 2x spray paint was then used to fine coat both items and prepare it for a clean coat of paint. Once the paint dried, TheJinxx used golden paint markers were used to illustrate golden Zonai markings. Moreover, golden paint was used to coat the controller buttons, console buttons, and the controller port plate.

The white paint and golden accents are a direct reference to the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED console, which released on April 28. According to TheJinxx, the Switch OLED console's specially themed dock was kept in proximity, allowing the user to examine the unique design and replicate it on both the console and controller. Several Zelda fans are pleased with the final design of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom GameCube despite TheJinxx saying it was "far from perfect" after completing the project.

TheJinxx's stunning GameCube design faithfully recreates the pleasing aesthetic of the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Switch OLED console. Additionally, the GameCube design has its own unique touches such as golden plate for the front-facing controller ports and the Triforce jewel badge. The painting process may be lengthy, but the console's unique design may be reproduced by using the correct materials and learning how to correctly sand and paint surfaces.

Although Zelda titles from the GameCube are not currently available on Switch, players may enjoy several hours of content and discover secrets in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo Switch Online has several classic Zelda games as well, including Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask from the Nintendo 64.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
