Driven by inspiration from the food found in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a fan recreated the game's pizza recipe in real life and shared their own take on the recipe on social media with other fans. For their effort, other Tears of the Kingdom players thanked the cook for sharing their delicious pizza recipe.
As was the case in Breath of the Wild, a variety of recipes remain at Link's disposal in Tears of the Kingdom. Most of the recipes of Hyrule not only restore health but can grant Link a buff such as faster running speed and increased resistance to Gloom and other elemental hazards. In addition, some of the meals that Link can make range from simple items like a roasted haunch of meat to elaborate dishes like a cake or even a pizza. With a pizza paddle and ingredients at the ready, one Zelda fan took the initiative to bake a Hylian dish into reality.
In a video, a member of the YouTube channel Crude Culinary created a real-life Hylian Tomato Pizza, sharing their work for others to see. In Tears of the Kingdom, Hylian Tomato Pizza is listed as recipe number 107, requiring one Hylian Tomato, one stalk of Tabantha Wheat, and one piece of Hateno Cheese. Meat can be added to the pizza for additional HP or stamina recovery for Link, but using other ingredients will change it into a different meal. In Crude Culinary's version of Hylian Tomato Pizza, they chose to omit any meat, sticking with using a wheat crust, a homemade tomato sauce, and chose mozzarella cheese as the stand-in for Hateno Cheese.
According to Crude Culinary's recipe, they topped the pizza with some sliced bell peppers, black olives, and a sliced homegrown tomato fresh off the vine. Though some Tears of the Kingdom meals can be made in unique ways, the Hylian Tomato Pizza is made using a standard cooking pot. But, they chose to bake the pizza in a standard oven. The recipe also made use of a pizza stone that was placed in an oven during preheating, but Crude Culinary stated that a sheet pan can work in most cases. In the comments section, Zelda fans thanked Crude Culinary for sharing their recipe.
Though some games have disgusting food dishes, the Hylian Tomato Pizza of Tears of the Kingdom is not among them. With gamers like those at Crude Culinary making tasty treats, it remains to be seen what other Zelda fans will create next.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
