Where to Find Stealthfin Trout in Tears of the Kingdom
The best place to find Stealthfin Trout is in Lake Mekar, which surrounds Great Hyrule Forest. Stealthfin Trout spawn here in abundance, but make sure not to get too close to the forest, as this will disorient Link.
Best Way to Catch Stealthfin Trout in Tears of the Kingdom
There are several ways to fish in Tears of the Kingdom, none of which involve a fishing rod. Some quick methods include diving in with a speed or swim speed boost food and catching them bare-handed, or shooting an arrow fused with a Shock Fruit or Yellow Chu-Chu Jelly into the water. The most efficient method, however, is the Bolt Boat.
Beam Emitter Boat/Raft
By far the easiest way to farm Stealthfin Trout (or any other fish) is to make a raft or boat with a Beam Emitter Zonai Device attachment. One of the constructs in the Depths will actually give the player a schema stone for a 'Bolt Boat' that is perfect for this purpose. If not, there are rafts available on the shore of the river. Attaching a Steering Stick to the top and Beam Emitter to the front will do the trick.
Ride around this area on the Beam Emitter device and watch as Stealthfin Trout float up to the surface.
Uses for Stealthfin Trout in Tears of the Kingdom
While Stealthfin Trout can be eaten uncooked for one heart, there are better ways to use the fish.
Recipes
Using the Stealthfin Trout in cooking will grant a buff to stealth as long as the other ingredients are neutral or also stealth-based. The above recipe uses three Stealthfin Trout and two Silent Princesses to grant the player a ten-minute midlevel stealth buff.
Armor Upgrades
The player will need thirty total Stealthfin Trout to upgrade the Stealth Armor Set to the maximum level. Each piece requires ten Stealthfin Trout to upgrade to four stars, which will greatly increase stealth and provide a total of 48 defense.
