One The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player put their building skills to the test by creating a mechanical goose in the game. While the player had to use q-linking in Tears of the Kingdom to pull off the design, the results were nonetheless impressive, earning the praise of many in the game’s online community.

As a sequel to the revolutionary Breath of the Wild on the Switch, Tears of the Kingdom understandably built upon the already successful foundation of its predecessor. However, Nintendo steered Tears of the Kingdom in some new directions as well, notably bringing building mechanics to the game through the Ultrahand ability. Thanks to this ability for Link, one fan has been creating incredible machines based on the real-world designs of animals.

Known as kmarkow on Reddit, the player showcased one of their most recent builds in a post on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit. Drawing on their already immense building experience in the over one-year-old game, the player created a machine that looked similar to a real-life goose. Some of its features included a long, slender neck that attached to a large beak. In addition, kmarkow managed to get the proportions of the goose’s body correct, creating an oval shape. They even built legs for the design, allowing the machine to waddle forward at slow speeds.

When sharing the post on Reddit, kmarkow detailed how they created the goose, providing a comprehensive list of materials used. According to the player, boats were utilized for the body of the mechanical animal, while a long curved log made up the neck. A few other highlights included a sled for the beak and carts for the feet. It is worth pointing out that kmarkow said Mineru and FSFE q-linking in Tears of the Kingdom were used to complete the build. In addition, they “recall locked a weapon in order to steal the Rito ball from the mini-game.” Furthermore, kmarkow credited Reddit user reeldeadone for the inspiration to create a goose in the game.

This goose design adds to an already impressive list of animal creations kmarkow has made in Tears of the Kingdom. On their Reddit page, the player has shown off builds featuring all sorts of things, including a mosquito and a hopping kangaroo, to name a few. In addition, other players have tried their hand at animal builds, with one person creating a mechanical fire-breathing dragon in Tears of the Kingdom.

As these past creations show, players like kmarkow have come up with all sorts of creative ideas to implement in Tears of the Kingdom. Time will tell what builds are left for fans to attempt to realize in the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This installment once again sees Link and Zelda battling to protect Hyrule from falling to Ganondorf. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
