Using Korok Seeds to expand inventory slots is a long-standing feature of the Legend of Zelda franchise. Traversing the world, solving puzzles, and reuniting Koroks with their friends (a new Tears of the Kingdom feature) can be fun for some players - but the beauty of Tears of the Kingdom is that players who are less puzzle-oriented can find solutions to their storage needs elsewhere.
While it might be worth reuniting a few Koroks for extra slots, there is another option.
How To Store Weapons In Tears of the Kingdom
In order to store weapons, Link will need a house. In order to get a house, there are a few crucial (and long-winded) steps he needs to take.
Mattison's Independence Side Quest
The first step to unlocking a house is to complete the Mattison's Independence Side Quest in Tarrey Town. Put simply, here are all the required steps:
- Head to Tarrey Town at coordinates 4012, 1619, 0127 in the Akkala Highlands Region, and speak to Hudson about his daughter.
- Find Mattison in her room and follow her to the center of town, where she will be quizzing some older folks on the Gerudo language.
- Once this is over, use Ultrahand on a plank of wood big enough to shield the Rail Guard's eyes so that Mattison can board the tram without paying.
-
Meet Mattison on the other side of the tram and give Hudson ten
Sundelions.
For a more comprehensive look at this Side Quest, check out this Mattison's Independence Walkthrough. Now that Rhondson and Hudson are freed up to work on other projects, talk to him about building a house to trigger the Home on Arrange Side Quest.
Home on Arrange Side Quest
Rhondson (for a fee of 1,500 Rupees) will direct Link to a plot of land southeast of Tarrey Town and close to Rasitakiwak Shrine. For the price Link has already paid, he has unlocked two rooms that can be stuck together with Ultrahand. Arrange these rooms, talk to Granteson, and the Home on Arrange Side Quest should be completed.
Adding Weapon, Bow, and Shield Storage
At this point, the only thing left to do is purchase additional rooms to finally store those weapons. Link can purchase three of each type of storage room for 600 rupees each, giving a total of nine storage slots for weapons, bows, and shields. These items will stay safely stored here, free from despawning, until the player comes back to pick them up.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
