Lizalfos are a classic Legend of Zelda monster, and different types of Lizalfos were added in Breath of the Wild. As a direct sequel, Lizalfos make their return in Tears of the Kingdom, and they can be just as much of a pest as their BotW-counterparts.

Some Lizalfos breathe fire, others breathe ice. Then there are Electric Lizalfos, which can generate a field of electricity that zaps anything in range. It's arguable whether the Electric Lizalfos are the toughest of their species, but regardless, their electric fields make them a nuisance. Unfortunately, it's required to farm their horns and tails for several armor sets in Tears of the Kingdom.

Where to Find Electric Lizalfos

Link won't find the Electric Lizalfos in the Hebra or Eldin region. Instead, Electric Lizalfos prefer the Gerudo Wasteland and the Faron Region. If players decide to look for them in the Gerudo Wasteland, they'll level 2 cold/heat resistance depending on the time of day. In contrast, Faron doesn't have arid or frigid temperatures. However, thunderstorms tend to strike Faron quite often, so keep an eye on the skies and remove any metal gear if necessary.

Striking the horn of an Electric Lizalfos will cause it to release a dome of electricity. If player intend on getting in headshots, they should do so from a fair distance away. If they're too close, the dome will reach Link and he'll drop his weapon.

Players that have the Camera from the "Camera Work in The Depths" and the Sensor + from "Presenting Sensor+" side quests can take a picture of an Electric Lizalfos and track its location:

  • "Camera Work in The Depths" can be accepted from Josha after Link activates the first Skyview Tower.
  • "Presenting Sensor+" requires more work to unlock. Players will need to complete one of the "Regional Phenomena" main quests and get the Auto-Build Ability from the Great Abandoned Central Mine in The Depths. After this, speak to Josha to show her the Auto-Build Ability, and repair Robbie's hot-air balloon. Then, speak to Robbie, and he'll relocate to the Ancient Tech Lab in Hateno Village.

Gerudo Wasteland

Electric Lizalfos will camouflage themselves in the sand and will leap out at Link if he gets too close. Players can avoid this by wearing the Lizalfos Mask or Majora's Mask. It's also recommended to have level 2 heat and cold resistance (depending on the time of day in-game) and the Sand Boots.

  1. Players should look between the Karahatag Shrine (-3714, -3618, 0044) and the Irasak Shrine (-4159, -3824, 0028).
  2. There's also an Electric Lizalfos around -3762, -3423, 0020, north of the Karahatag Shrine.

Faron Region (Dracozu Lake)

Another region that players can find Electric Lizalfos is the Faron Region, specifically around Dracozu Lake and the Lakeside Stable. Here's where to look:

  1. From Lakeside Stable, cross the river to the tent by the dondons (1569, -3351, 0060). From here, continue west and there should be an Electric Lizalfos standing by the ledge overlooking the river.
  2. From Dracozu Lake, go south. There are two Electric Lizalfos swimming in Harker Lake (0925, -2859, 0022).

Where to Use Electric Lizalfos Horns & Electric Lizalfos Tails

The downside to the Electric Lizalfos drops is that the Electric Lizalfos Tails are rarer than the horns. Players are more likely to get an Electric Lizalfos Horn for each Electric Lizalfos they slay than they would a tail. Both the horns and the tails can be Fused to weapons to give them an electric attack. Fusing an Electric Lizalfos Tail will create a whip.

Another way to use them is for upgrading armor. The following armor sets will require Electric Lizalfos Horns and Electric Lizalfos Tails:
