The shrine's challenge "Proving Grounds: In Reverse" challenges players to fight through several constructs using only the equipment provided. At the start of the room, players can find a shield and a few weapons.

The theme of the challenge encourages the use of Link's Recall ability to reverse the direction of the gears in order to reach higher sections of the shrine. There are also several Zonai Time Bombs that the constructs will throw at the player that can be reversed back at them.
