Kakariko Village may be one of the first villages that players visit in Tears of the Kingdom. After completing the tutorial mode, players are, for them most part, free to go wherever they want. Those that stop by Kakariko Village in the southeast should stop by the general store.
Unfortunately, Kakariko's general store, High Spirits Produce, is completely devoid of merchandise in Tears of the Kingdom. While an empty store is not exactly welcoming for new players, restocking High Spirits Produce is relatively simple. Complete the Codgers' Quarrel side quest, and the store will be back to normal.
Where is Kakariko Village?
Kakariko Village is to the southeast of Lookout Landing around 1736, -0902, 0199. The best way to reach this is on horseback from the Dueling Peaks Stable, but players can also use the Lookout Landing Skyview Tower and start gliding in the right direction. Another way to reach this is by gliding from Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower at 1345, -1169, 0166.
The High Spirits Produce shop is at 1796, 1028, 0115. Upon entering, players will notice there's only one egg for sale and nothing more. The shop owner, Trissa, will have a red exclamation point over her head, indicating she has a side quest for Link.
How to Complete Codgers' Quarrel Side Quest
Speak to Trissa to unlock Codgers' Quarrel side quest. She'll mention that the ones (Steen and Olkin) in charge of gathering produce for the general store have gone to fight off some monsters at one of the ruins in Kakariko Village. Specifically, she says they're at the hills that lead west.
Go to 1651, -1126, 0212 on the map. As Trissa mentioned, this is west in Kakariko Village. Players will need some Stamina to scale the cliff, but this shouldn't be too much of an issue even with one Stamina Wheel.
Steen and Olkin can't seem to come to an agreement on how to deal with the enemies, meaning Link will have to take care of them himself. Go to the nearby campfire and Link will have to fight several enemies:
- x2 Blue Bokoblins
- x1 Silver Bokoblin
The Blue Bokoblins aren't much to worry about, but the one from above will snipe Link with arrows, so it may be better to take that one out first. An arrow the head should be enough to one shot it. It's the Silver Bokoblin that Link will need to be careful around. Silver enemies have a ton of HP and solid attack and defense, making them very dangerous for new players.
There's a ruins tablet and translation notes near the camp, so read those before leaving.
Once they're taken care of, report back to Steen and Olkin, who are in awe of Link's abilities. They'll then return to Kakariko Village and the High Spirits store will finally have everything in stock with one more exception.
Follow the Cuccos Walkthrough
It would seem everything's been restocked, but now there aren't any eggs. If players don't need eggs to be in stock at High Spirits, then they can skip this. If not, speak to Trissa once again to accept another side quest: Follow the Cuccos.
As the title indicates, players need to tail some of the Cuccos in Kakariko Village. Rest until morning, and quietly pursue them up towards the Zonai dispenser (behind the general store on the hill). They'll move to a hideaway in a hillside in the Pillars of Levia.
If Link gets caught, then the Cuccos will flee. Players can either rest until morning again, or they can just go to the Cucco Hideaway itself at coordinates: 1877, -1157, 0200. Collect 10 eggs from the hideaway, and then return to the general store.
If players already have 10 Eggs, they can bypass this entire quest and just give them to Trissa.
Kakariko General Store Merchandise
Once Codgers' Quarrel and Follow the Cuccoos has been completed, the Kakariko general store will have a modest selection of goods. These can be useful for those in the beginning stages of their journey. Items such as Goat Butter can only be bought from stores, so if players can spare the money, they should buy as much as they can/want.
