The Legend of Zelda fans will soon have the chance to own a life-size replica of the Decayed Master Sword from Tears of the Kingdom, thanks to a collaboration with First 4 Figures. While the actual release date has not been revealed, Zelda fans can pre-order this statue later this month.
Seen wielded by Link in numerous games, the Master Sword has become one of the most iconic weapons in video games. Tears of the Kingdom put a unique twist on the weapon by featuring a decayed version due to the Gloom that came from underneath Hyrule Castle. As the name suggests, the Decayed Master Sword lacks the power of its normal version. As a result, players are encouraged to use Tears of the Kingdom’s Fuse ability to mix and match items together to make usable weapons. While this often means the Decayed Master Sword gets left in most players' inventories during the tutorial section, it has still left an impression.
The Witcher: Why Geralt vs. Link Isn't Even Close
While The Witcher's Geralt and Legend of Zelda's Link are incredibly powerful warriors, a direct battle would produce a clear winner. Er.
First 4 Figures Teases Decayed Master Sword Statue
Recently, First 4 Figures announced a new statue that pays tribute to the iconic weapon. As revealed by the company, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Decayed Master Sword Life-Size Statue will become available for pre-order on December 18. Unfortunately, no release date was given for the statue, but it will likely be released sometime in 2026. Additionally, pricing info will not be unveiled until launch day, but the company noted that pre-ordering gets $10 off the purchase. While the price remains a mystery, the silhouette of the design has been shared on social media. Furthermore, First 4 Figures has teased that it will be a “life-size” replica.
It is worth noting that this is not the first The Legend of Zelda statue that First 4 Figures has released. The company has a line of Breath of the Wild replicas that fans can purchase, such as one of the Sheikah Slate and another of the Hylian Shield. Additionally, there are figures of Link, Zelda, and the Champions. First 4 Figures has even released a version of Majora’s Mask from the iconic N64 game. The price of these products varies substantially, but the life-size scale of the Decayed Master Sword from Tears of the Kingdom suggests it could be on the pricey side. Currently, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild - Link on Horseback statue is the most expensive at $724.99 on the First 4 Figures website.
While The Legend of Zelda fans wait for the Decayed Master Sword statue to be unveiled, 2025 has already been a big year for Tears of the Kingdom. Specifically, the game received a Switch 2 Edition, alongside Breath of the Wild, which improved the frame rate and resolution on Nintendo’s latest hardware. In addition, the enhanced version of the game introduced the Zelda Notes companion app. This added various supplemental features for Switch 2 players, such as Voice Memories and Autobuild Sharing. Furthermore, players can upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition of Tears of the Kingdom for free if they have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership and already own the Switch version of the game.
It will be interesting to see what 2026 has in store for The Legend of Zelda franchise. A movie is in development, with a release planned for 2027. With this in mind, the first trailer could be revealed next year. Additionally, Tears of the Kingdom was released on May 12, 2023, so there is the possibility that fans could learn about the next big Zelda game sometime in 2026.
In the meantime, many gamers continue to play Tears of the Kingdom. Despite the title being several years old, players have used the Ultrahand ability to stay busy by creating impressive machines in the game. Hopefully, the game and merchandise related to it can help make the wait for the next game bearable for fans.
