  • A Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fan shares a Giant Octorok creation, impressing other players.
  • The in-game engineer noted that the creature had eight tentacles and two eyeballs, with other parts made from a balloon, a homing cart, and a big battery.

A dedicated fan of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has shared a stunning creation with the gaming community, revealing a mechanical Giant Octorok build in-game. Tears of the Kingdom was released back in 2023 to critical acclaim, returning veterans to the fantastical action-adventure scenario that follows Link’s quest to find the missing Princess Zelda and thwart villain Ganondorf’s plans to plunge Hyrule into darkness.

One of the most anticipated video game adaptations currently in the pipeline is the live-action project that will bring Link and Zelda to the silver screen. The Legend of Zelda movie recently got hit with a delay, pushing its release date from March 26, 2027, to May 7, 2027, but Zelda fans are generally not happy that a live-action film is being made at all. Most would have opted to see an animation come to fruition, as certain fantasy aspects don’t always translate well into a real-world setting.

Posted on Reddit by kmarkow, a 30-second video was shared on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit, flaunting an impressive Giant Octorok build, similar to another Tears of the Kingdom player who built mechanical fish, in keeping with the Octorok’s nautical theme. The clip shows Link wielding a bow and arrow while being chased by the Octorok, which looks exactly like the octopus-like monsters from the franchise. The in-game engineer noted that the creature had eight tentacles and two eyeballs, with other parts made from a balloon, a homing cart, and a big battery.

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Player Builds Giant Octorok

The Octorok is reminiscent of the Octo Boss added to Tears of the Kingdom’s Second Wind mod, and fellow engineers were very impressed by the feat. One Redditor noted that the Octorok resembled Gary the Snail from SpongeBob SquarePants, and another recommended adding a cannon to the build, but they were worried it would blow apart the tentacles. However, the original poster responded, saying there was only one way to find out.

Gamers will be well aware that the Breath of the Wild sequel became an engineer’s playground, thanks to the successor’s new Zonai technology. Building tools, such as the Flame Emitters, Hover Stones, and more Zonai devices, plus natural materials like wooden panels and rocks, can be used to build anything by creative minds using Link’s Ultrahand ability, from vehicles to impressive structures. One Tears of the Kingdom fan built an amazing submarine to ride, but the frustrating part in these creations lies in how long the batteries last.
