Summary

  • Tears of the Kingdom introduced Ultrahand, adding new building opportunities.
  • Reddit user ReelDeadOne showcased an impressive X-Wing build.
  • Glitches were used to create the iconic Star Wars look of the starfighter in the Zelda universe.

A skilled builder has created an X-Wing starfighter from Star Wars in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and the result has earned the approval of the game’s online community. While the player had to use various glitches in Tears of the Kingdom to make the build a reality, the time and effort resulted in something that looked like it came straight out of the Rebel Alliance.

One of the notable ways Tears of the Kingdom innovated on the successful formula of Breath of the Wild was by adding Ultrahand. This new ability for Link added building mechanics, allowing players to construct incredible machines to traverse Hyrule. With the game over a year old, numerous unique designs have been shown online. In addition, some players have taken previous ideas and refined them as they continued to master the game’s mechanics.

One player who recently showcased their building know-how in Tears of the Kingdom was Reddit user ReelDeadOne. In a post, they showcased their incredible X-Wing creation. As seen in a video, the player managed to create a machine out of Zonai Devices and other items that looked very similar to the iconic Star Wars starfighter. Specifically, ReelDeadOne got the dimensions of the starfighter correct, replicating the iconic formation of the wings when in attack formation and the pointed front section. They even dressed Link up in clothing that resembled what a Rebel Alliance soldier might wear in the Star Wars universe.

When sharing the design on Reddit, ReelDeadOne gave a comprehensive breakdown of the building process and parts used in the design. According to the builder, the X-Wing was only made possible due to a variety of Tears of the Kingdom glitches. Many fans were amazed by the quality of the finished project, with some noting that it was the best X-Wing built in the game they had seen on the internet. So far, the Reddit post has gained over 1.2K upvotes on the Hyrule Engineering subreddit.

It is worth pointing out that this is not the only Star Wars-themed creation made in Tears of the Kingdom. Given the popularity of the franchise and its plethora of iconic vehicles and spacecraft, players have made all sorts of impressive-looking builds. For example, another gamer previously recreated podracers in Tears of the Kingdom, imagining what the lightning-fast vehicles from Episode 1: The Phantom Menace would look like in Hyrule.

Hopefully, more players will continue to showcase their creativity in Tears of the Kingdom. Perhaps ReelDeadOne will choose to build an Imperial craft for their next build to oppose the Rebel ship. Regardless, whatever they design will likely be worth checking out based on their past creations.
