While traveling through Hyrule and the Sky Islands in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players must figure out how to defeat the darkness consuming the land. During this journey, there are opportunities to earn resources, weapons, or Rupees by completing side quests. One side quest worth taking on is discovering Simmerstone Springs near Goron City. The Simmerstone Springs quest has multiple rewards and takes players to a useful but dangerous location in the scorching mountains near Death Mountain. Simmerstone Springs can only be accessed with the proper equipment, so this walkthrough has everything needed to finish the side quest in Tears of the Kingdom.
Simmerstone Springs Side Quest Walkthrough
After entering Goron City for the first time, the Simmerstone Springs side quest can be discovered after players start the Yunobo of Goron City main quest. On the southeast side of Goron City, an NPC called Kima (1707, 2421, 0392) tells Link he came to the city for help finding Simmerstone Springs but hasn't had any success. He hints that there might be information at the Goron Hot Springs south of the city.
Link can scale the mountains to find the springs, but the easiest way is to go to Stolock Bridge (1627, 2475, 0456) and follow the path straight to them. There's an elderly Goro named Grapp resting in the springs. He tells Link that the best water is found at the Simmerstone Springs in Gorko Tunnel, but the entrance collapsed and is blocked off. Before heading to the Gorko Tunnel, players should ensure they have multiple hammers in their inventory.
Hammers are made by fusing a stick, sword, or spear to a boulder or Ruins Rubble with the fuse ability. At least three hammers should be enough to clear the collapsed entrance.
Gorko Tunnel is a bit further south of the Goron Hot Springs (1988, 2049, 0424), but its temperature is too high for Link to withstand without Flame Resistant Armor or Heat-Resistant meals and elixirs. Because of this, make sure the hammers are made with nonflammable weapons.
At the back of the Gorko Tunnel is the blocked entrance. Use a hammer to break through all the rocks. Take a left, find the next set of stones, and repeat the steps from earlier. This reveals a room with a hot spring in it. The final step to finishing Simmerstone Springs side quest is to step into the waters.
Kima will appear and use the water to hard-boil several eggs. He also gives Link 100 Silver Rupees for finding Simmerstone Springs. Players can find many valuable gems in the rock deposits along the walls before leaving the tunnel.
