There are countless side quests available to Link on The Surface of Hyrule. There are even more side quests that unlock after completing one of Tears of the Kingdom's main quests. One side quest that players might miss is "The Blue Stone," which takes place near Zora's Domain.
"The Blue Stone" isn't referring to a
Sapphire or a
Luminous Stone as some players might assume. It's a literal blue stone that Link will need to carry back to the quest giver. Fortunately, this is one of the more straightforward side quests following the Zora arc in Tears of the Kingdom.
Where is Ledo? (The Blue Stone Side Quest)
In order to do this side quest, players are going to need to complete the main quest "Sidon of the Zora." They can start it by visiting Zora's Domain for the first time. Most, if not all, side quests from Zora's Domain crop up after the Water Temple/"Sidon of the Zora," and "The Blue Stone" is no exception.
Players will want to return to the East Reservoir Lake. This is the same place where Link and Sidon had to swim up the waterfall to the floating ruins preceeding the Water Temple. Players can reach East Reservoir Lake by diving from Mipha Court (near Ihen-a Shrine), or they can take the eastern bridge on the second floor of Zora's Domain.
There will be a green Zora named Ledo standing at the end of the walkway (3596, 0341, 0211). Speak to him to start "The Blue Stone" side quest.
The Blue Stone Side Quest Walkthrough
Ledo is looking to make some repairs at Mipha Court, but he needs one of the blue stones from the Reservoir Lakefront Cavern (3848, 0428, 0210). If players speak to Ledo, the camera will zoom in on the location of the cave, making it easier to mark on the map.
The stones themselves are too heavy and can't be added to the inventory. This means Link is going to need to build a raft and sail out towards the cave. He'll then need to bring the stone back to Ledo.
Here's what to do:
- Retreat back to the start of the walkway (3589, 0361, 0210), and there will be some planks, two fans, and a steering stick.
- Use Ultrahand to retrieve the plank and the Zonai devices.
-
Attach the two fans and
Steering Stick
to the plank, and drop it in the water facing the direction of the Reservoir Lakefront Cavern.
- Go straight (look in the direction Ledo is facing) and enter the cavern at 3848, 0428, 0210.
- There will be a handful of blue stones at the back of the cavern. Use Ultrahand to attach a stone to the makeshift raft.
- Leave the cavern and return to Ledo.
Players will find a Bubbulfrog behind some vines along the left wall of the cavern. Make sure to get the Bubbul Gem before leaving.
The Blue Stone Side Quest Reward (& How to Use It)
Ledo will give Link a Zora Fabric as thanks for the blue stone. This key item is for the paraglider. Players will need to go to Kochi's Dye Shop in Hateno Village to change the look of their paraglider. Changing the current fabric to the Zora Fabric will cost 20 Rupees.
