In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, there are numerous stables that serve multiple purposes for Link. They serve as a place for him to rest and replenish his health by sleeping, as well as a spot to board and equip horses. The stables also act as quest hubs, offering a variety of side quests and opportunities for Link to assist the residents of Hyrule.

One series of quests in Tears of the Kingdom involves aiding each stable’s keeper by taking photographs of specific locations and landmarks across Hyrule. These quests become accessible after clearing temples as part of the Regional Phenomena quest series. To initiate the quest "A Picture for Highland Stable," any one of the temples can be completed for Padok, the stable keeper will offer the quest.

The Highland Stable is situated at coordinates (0517, -3440, 0047), in the southern Faron region of Hyrule. The nearest fast travel point is Utsushok Shrine, which drops Link off just northeast of the stable. Alternatively, players can travel to Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and glide south until they reach the stable.

To begin the quest, interact with the empty frame and engage in a conversation with Padok. He expresses his desire to have a painting of a giant white stallion, which he has heard rumors about. However, he lacks the time to investigate these rumors himself. Padok informs Link that if such a magnificent creature truly exists, he would love to see it. He mentions that some travelers were heading to the Lake of the Horse God to look into this rumor.

To reach the Lake of the Horse God, players need to travel directly southeast of the stable out of its back gate, passing through a small grassy canyon that leads straight to the lake. The Lake of the Horse God comprises three bodies of water displayed on the map, with the southeastern pool at the end of the road being the final destination. Those familiar with Breath of the Wild may recognize this location as leading to the former dwelling of the Horse God Malanya, who can now be found at spring in the Akkala region.

This destination is just across the appropriately named Horse God Bridge located at coordinates (0564, -3711, 0061), which Link can reach easily by jumping and gliding from the first pool to the second pool, then climbing up the nearby rocks.

Once across the Horse God Bridge, Link will encounter the two aforementioned travelers, Straia and Jini, who are also in search of the white stallion. They inform Link that the beast is too powerful to be tamed (which is not true), and will provide information about the Horse God if asked. They direct Link to proceed deep into the valley ahead, where he will come across this rumored magnificent creature.

In the clearing ahead, at coordinates (0780, -3723, 0081), the Giant White Stallion can be found wandering around and can be easily photographed from a suitable distance. While the quest requires only a photo of the horse, it's difficult to resist the temptation to tame this beautiful creature. As mentioned by the explorers, the Great White Stallion is a challenging beast to control, requiring a considerable amount of Stamina for Link to keep a hold of it.

Once the player has taken the necessary photo, regardless of whether they have managed to tame the horse or not, they should return to the Highland Stable and show Padok the photo. He is thrilled to discover that the beast is real and paints a replica of Link's photo to decorate the walls of his stable. As a reward, he grants the player 1 Pony Point and an Energizing Honey Crepe, thereby concluding the quest "A Picture for Highland Stable."

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
