The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has added many new elements to the world of Breath of the Wild. It gave players many new ways to explore the vast world that was already available to them and made tremendously exciting additions to it.
One of the most exciting additions made in Tears of the Kingdom is the Zonai devices. These devices have allowed the creativity of many players to go wild. This technology can only be used to its full potential if the player can gather enough Zonaite ore.
What is Zonaite And How To Use It?
Zonaite is a newly introduced resource in the Zelda franchise, only existing in Tears of the Kingdom. This resource is an essential need for players to get through the game. Indeed, it is needed to upgrade Link’s Energy Cell as this battery-like device is what is used to power the various Zonai devices, also known as Zonai capsules, that players will find throughout their adventure, such as the fan or the flame emitter.
To upgrade their Energy Cells, the players will need to head to the Crystal Refinery, located on the Great Sky Island. The player will be asked to hand over 100 crystal charges in exchange for one upgrade. Players can upgrade the Energy Cell multiple times, and expectedly, this would cost a lot of crystal charges. Each crystal charge is equal to three Zonaite ores.
Zonaite can also be used to make Zonai charges, although it is not as useful in the long term.
How To Farm Zonaite In Tears Of The Kingdom
The best place to mine Zonaite is undoubtedly the Depth, as well as Sky Island Mines. There, players will find massive spots to mine and extract ores from. Each Blood Moon, they will be replenished, so an effective way to get a large quantity of Zonaite is by locating and pinning down these ore-rich areas to come back to after they respawn. A hammer or Yunobo’s skill would be of great help here.
In the Depth, defeating enemies will also lead them to drop Zonaite. Typically, the stronger the enemy, the more rewarding it'll be for the players. Breaking wooden crates is also a viable option, although not as effective.
If the player wants to speed things up and cheat their way through, one thing they can do is attempt the duplication glitch, if they don’t want to spend hours mining to upgrade their Energy Cell.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available to play now on the Nintendo Switch.
