The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been a phenomenon on the Nintendo Switch. It took over the story from its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, and enhanced everything about the game, making it a must-have experience, especially for Zelda fans.
Hyrule is a humongous place and to make the travel easier, Link will need a trusted mount to see him through the many perils. Throughout the game, the player will find better horses so they might wish to release weaker horses to free up their stable and there is a way to free horses in Tears of the Kingdom.
Where to Go to Release A Horse
When a player wants to release a horse in Tears of The Kingdom, the obvious solution would be at their closest stable.
There are many stables across the Hyrule kingdom that the player will find along their journey. Any of the Dueling Peaks Stable, the East Akkala Stable, the Foothill Stable, the Gerudo Canyon Stable, the Highland Stable, the Lakeside Stable, the Outskirt Stable, the Rito Stable, the Riverside Stable, the Serenne Stable, the Snowfield Stable, the South Akkala Stable, the Tabantha Bridge Stable, the Wetland Stable, and the Woodland Stable will do the trick.
How To Release A Horse In Tears Of The Kingdom
To release a horse, the player must first have their horse stock full, which is 6, at max. When that is done, all they have to do is tame a new horse and bring it to the stable to register.
The player will be told that they have to release one horse to be able to register a new one due to the stock being full. Once the player agrees to release a horse, it will be taken in by the stable, and Link won’t be able to access it again. Players should be sure they really don’t want the horse anymore before releasing it.
Killing Your Horse To Release It
Another way a player can “release” a horse is by killing it or letting it die. A horse will die if it takes substantial damage from Link himself or from monsters. It can also happen by accident if players fall off a cliff. When a horse dies, it is automatically released, and players won’t be able to use it again.
Of course, if the player regrets this decision and wants their horse back, they will have to visit the horse god, Malanya. She is located in the very northeast of Hyrule and, after players provide her with an
Endura Carrot, she will revive the horse.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available to play now on the Nintendo Switch.
