The shrines in Tears of the Kingdom play out exactly the same way they did in Breath of the Wild. As in the previous game, shrines are essentially mini-dungeons that require players to test their knowledge on how to use their abilities to overcome puzzles and obstacles. If successful, players will get the Light of Blessing. Once they have four of these items, they can use them to either improve their health or stamina.
Each shrine provides a unique and challenging puzzle that requires players to stop and think about how to use what they have to succeed. In some cases, players will need to defeat enemies while in others they just have to solve a few puzzles to reach the end. The Jonsau Shrine has both puzzles and some combat, and it will require Tears of the Kingdom players to understand how to make good use of Ultrahand.
Where is the Jonsau Shrine Located?
The Jonsau Shrine can be found in the Lanayru region. The coordinates for this shrine are 1744, 0017, 0025. In order to reach the shrine via the most direct route, players will need to make a boat to cross the river. There is a path that leads there, but players have to go around the long way to reach it.
Jonsau Shrine Walkthrough
Once the shrine is active and the fast travel point opens, go inside and move toward the floating sphere in the water. Make sure that Ultrahand is equipped, and then use it to grab the sphere. Move the sphere so it is directly under the large green circle. Use Ultrahand to pull the sphere under the water and then let go once it reaches the bottom. The sphere will shoot through the water and hit the green circle, opening the door on the other side of the room.
Make sure to take the sphere into the next room, as it will be needed for the second puzzle. In the next room, kill the Construct and then look to the left toward the water. Activate Ultrahand to spot a treasure chest at the bottom of the water. Grab it and pull it out to receive a Strong Construct Bow.
Just like the first puzzle, move the sphere so that it is under the circle and then pull down to the bottom of the water. When released, it will hit the circle and the next door will open. Grab the yellow platform from the water and bring it into the next room. Put down the yellow platform and use the sphere to knock the wood plank off of the platform above.
Attach the wood plank with Ultrahand on top of the platform that fell into the water. Get onto the wood plank and then pull the sphere under the water so that it is directly under the platform and the wood plank. Let go, and the sphere will launch players up into the air and onto the platform above. Jump down to reach the altar where the Light of Blessing awaits to be claimed.
