How To Trigger the 'Pride of the Gerudo' Side Quest

There are two main pre-requisites to triggering this side quest because the reward is so high. First, this is one of several side quests in Gerudo Town that can only be completed after the Gerudo portion of 'Regional Phenomena' has been fully completed. Once Gerudo Town has been restored to its former glory, head to the jewelry shop near the entrance and speak to the shopkeeper.

Before the player can take on the 'Pride of the Gerudo' side quest, they first must find the owner of the Gerudo Jewelry Shop, who is being trapped in the desert by a Molduga at Toruma Dunes.

Link must defeat the Molduga and rescue Isha to complete this quest. Molduga look like they pose a huge threat, but luring them out with Time Bombs and attacking their underbellies will make quick work of them. Talk to Isha to complete the quest, then head back to the jewelry shop to start 'Pride of the Gerudo'.

Isha is so grateful to Link for saving her from the Molduga (and saving Gerudo Town) that she offers Link The Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield. In order to craft The Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield, Isha needs a ton of valuable materials from Link. She wants to collect them herself, but finding the materials is part of proving that Link is worthy enough to wield them.

Where to Find Four Diamonds

Tears of the Kingdom Diamond

Diamonds are the rarest mineral in Hyrule, but with enough grinding, players can find the four required to craft the Scimitar of the Seven and Daybreaker Shield. Here are some reliable methods:

  • Stone Talus' can drop diamonds when defeated, and Rare Stone Talus' have an even higher chance.
  • Rare Ore Deposits also drop Diamonds more frequently than standard Ore Deposits. Both can be found in dense amounts in caves, wells, and in the Death Mountain area of Akkala.
  • Feeding Luminous Stones to Dondons (elephant-like creatures found near Lakeside Stable in the Faron Region) grants the chance that they will produce a Diamond after a while.
  • A Goron sitting opposite the armor shop in Goron City sells Diamonds for 1000 Rupees each.

Where to Find Ten Flint

On the other hand, Flint is one of the most common materials in Hyrule. When running around breaking ore deposits and fighting Talus' for diamonds, players should find that they have more than enough Flint to give to Isha. It is hard to break a single ore deposit without getting at least one Flint.

Where to Find a Gerudo Shield

Gerudo Shields are dropped by Shock Like Likes in the Gerudo Desert area, but there is a guaranteed Gerudo Shield in Gerudo Town. Head to the top right corner of Gerudo Town (when facing the shelter entrance), climb and ascend to the highest point, and find a chest that contains a Gerudo Shield.

Where to Find a Gerudo Scimitar

Similarly to the Gerudo Shield, the Gerudo Scimitar is dropped in Treasure Chests by Like Likes in the Gerudo Desert Area. Head to the Abandoned Gerudo Canyon Mine cave, or any of the number of quicksand pools that lead to caves in the area and set the Purah Pad Sensor+ to Like Like (specifically Shock Like Like), and eventually a Gerudo Scimitar will be dropped.

Reward for Completing the 'Pride of the Gerudo' Side Quest

The reward is, finally, the Scimitar of the Seven and the Daybreaker shield. The Daybreaker Shield, while very impressive visually, is far from the most powerful shield in the game. The Scimitar of the Seven, on the other hand, is an incredibly powerful weapon thanks to the Strong Fusion Special Trait that all Gerudo weapons have. This doubles the attack power of any item fused to the Scimitar.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now on Nintendo Switch.
