The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom completely revamped Breath of the Wild's combat system by giving players the ability to use all sorts of items to their advantage. There are several different elemental fruits in the game, and not only can they be used to make recipes with useful status effects, but they can also be used in battle.
This guide will focus on Ice Fruit, and it'll show how players can acquire it in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom as well as how to make the most of it.
How to Use Ice Fruit
Ice Fruit is one of the most valuable elemental fruits in the game, as it gives Link the ability to freeze his enemies in place and then hit them for three times the usual damage due to the extremely powerful frozen multiplier. On top of this, it's also a quick way to take down any fire-type enemies. For example, if Link throws Ice Fruit at a Fire-Breath Lizalfos, it will immediately kill them.
Players can fuse Ice Fruit with their weapons, but unless they do it with a
Boomerang✨, the Ice Fruit will be consumed the first time it touches an enemy. Ice Fruit works best when fused with arrows.
Another useful way to take advantage of Ice Fruit is to use it to freeze water. Since Cryonis isn't available in Tears of the Kingdom, players aren't able to create ice blocks on the water as easily as before, but it's not impossible either. If gamers throw an Ice Fruit on a body of water, an ice block will appear over it, allowing Link to jump on it.
Gamers can also add Ice Fruit to a cooking pot to create meals that increase Link's
Cold Weather Attack.
How to Farm Ice Fruit
Players are more common in the Gerudo Highlands and the Hebra Mountains, as they tend to grow mostly in a colder climate. However, they are still relatively rare items.
There is one location on the map where gamers can take down a few Red Bokoblins and take their Ice Fruit. This saves a lot of time since they won't have to go to the mountain in search of this item.
Players will find three Red Bokoblins inside the Upland Zorana Summit Cave, below the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower, and they all carry backpacks filled with
Ice Fruit. Gamers can effortlessly collect around 20 Ice Fruits by visiting this location, and they can repeat the process after every Blood Moon.
Wearing the
Bokoblin Mask will help players in this situation since the Bokoblins in the cave won't immediately attack Link, allowing him to get closer and strike before they start trying to hit him with their Ice Fruit arrows.
