The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild. It undoubtedly had some big shoes to fill as its predecessor gained a special place in the hearts of many. Tears of the Kingdom added tons of new content and gave gamers lots to explore, but there were also some familiar aspects that players were happy to see again.
This article focuses on the Hightail Lizard, a critter that some might recognize from Breath of the Wild. There are a few locations in Tears of the Kingdom where gamers can farm Hightail Lizards and put them to good use.
Hightail Lizard Uses
Just like many of the insects and critters in Hyrule,
Hightail Lizard can be used to improve armor and craft potions that give Link temporary boosts.
The
Hightail Lizard is a speedy creature, so gamers can cook it with some monster parts to make Hasty Elixirs that increase Link's speed.
Gamers will also have to collect Hightail Lizards in order to upgrade the Climbing Gear armor at one of the Great Fairy Fountains. To get a piece of the
Climbing Gear armor to tier two, players will have to collect five Hightail Lizards, and since there are three parts of armor to improve, they will need to find a total of 15 Hightail Lizards.
Best Locations to Farm Hightail Lizards
According to the Hightail Lizard's Hyrule Compendium entry, it can be most commonly found in Hyrule Field and Hyrule Ridge. This is accurate, but in most places, it's widely sparsely scattered. Thankfully, there is one location in particular where gamers can easily farm it, and that's Satori Mountain, south of Hyrule Ridge and west of Hyrule Field. There are two areas on the mountain where players will be able to farm Hightail Lizards.
Hightail Lizards seem to spawn most often underneath rock arches, and there is one in the southern area of Satori Mountain (coordinates -2220, -0693, 0205), just by a small body of water.
Evermeans often drop
Hightail Lizard once defeated, and since there is an apple tree orchard next to the Sonapan Shrine (coordinates -1948, -0339, 0224), they will often spawn here. Gamers can take down the Evermeans quickly with an axe to collect their loot.
Hightail Lizards aren't too difficult to catch. Players need to be quiet when approaching them, and if they're a bit too noisy, it shouldn't be too much of a problem since they usually take a bit to react before running away. If there are a lot of them in the same area, fusing an elemental Chuchu Jelly with an arrow will cause an explosion and render them immobile.
To farm the lizards, gamers should collect them underneath the arch, visit the orchard, and then go back to the arch to see if more have appeared in the meantime.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now for Nintendo Switch.
