Just like its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has dozens of creatures and materials that can be used to craft useful elixirs and upgrade Link's various armor sets. These are crucial parts of the gameplay that should not be overlooked, as they will undoubtedly help the player in tough situations as they can provide game-changing boosts as well as necessary protection in combat.
This guide will show gamers where they can find and farm the Hot-Footed Frog in Tears of the Kingdom and explain why it may be worth collecting while exploring the vast kingdom of Hyrule.
Hot-Footed Frog Uses
In Tears of the Kingdom, the
Hot-Footed Frog is useful in two specific situations: making elixirs and upgrading the Climbing Gear armor set.
Just as its name indicates, the Hot-Footed Frog moves quite fast, which makes it the perfect ingredient when cooking
Hasty Elixirs. Players can cook this frog with some monster parts to extract its swift-movement properties into a drinkable potion in order to receive its speed-boosting abilities.
Players will need quite a few Hot-Footed Frogs to upgrade all the parts of the
Climbing Gear armor to level three. The Great Fairies require ten Hot-Footed Frogs in order to upgrade each part of the set, meaning gamers will have to come up with a total of 30 frogs.
Gamers can also use the Hot-Footed Frog as an ingredient to make green dye at Sayge's Dye Shop.
Best Hot-Footed Frog Farming Locations
The Hot-Footed Frog is not an uncommon creature in Tears of the Kingdom, but there are areas where gamers will certainly find them in abundance.
Hot-Footed Frogs often dwell in locations such as wells and mines, and they also enjoy bathing in shallow bodies of water. Taking into consideration these preferred living conditions, Hot-Footed Frogs are quite easy to find in Hateno Village.
The village has a few small ponds where gamers can find a few Hot-Footed Frogs and it also has a complex well system; the wells are all interconnected down below. Players can complete the Manny's Beloved side quest in Hateno Village once they've collected ten Hot-Footed Frogs.
Hot-Footed Frogs are fast on their feet so, before approaching one of these creatures, gamers should put on some stealthy clothes or drink an elixir. It's also important to crouch.
Mipha Court, north of Lanayru Great Spring and east of Zora's Domain, is a location where Hot-Footed Frogs tend to spawn as well.
Players can climb up the lengthy set of stairs and catch three to four Hot-Footed Frogs without much of a hassle since the frogs will be immediately blocked by the railing and find themselves unable to escape. Unfortunately, they don't spawn as often here as they do in Hateno Village.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for Nintendo Switch.
