Sticky Frogs are one of the three types of frogs that Link can collect in Tears of the Kingdom. Unlike its Hot-Footed Frog and Tireless Frog counterparts, cooking a Sticky Frog won't generate a Hasty Elixir or Enduring Elixir. Instead, it will make it easier for Link to climb during the rain.

Players will find Sticky Frogs in the eastern region of Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom. Their blue color and orange legs make them stick out more than the other frogs, but unfortunately, they'll flee just like any other critter. If players intend on farming them, they'll want to enhance Link's stealth.

Sticky Frog Locations

loz totk sticky frog hyrule compendium

According to the Sticky Frogs entry in the Hyrule Compendium, they can be found in the West Necluda and the Lanayru Great Spring. This doesn't narrow down their location, so players will have better luck farming Sticky Frogs at Kakariko Village, Outskirt Stable, and south of East Reservoir Lake. Sticky Frogs aren't triggered by weather conditions, so they can be found at any time.

Before farming them, players will want to make sure they have Sneaky Elixirs or stealth-enhancing armor, like the Stealth Set from Kakariko Village. Sticky Frogs, as their name indicates, like to stick to walls. They will normally be found on the sides of cliffs and usually out of reach, too. It might not be a bad idea for players to have more than one stamina wheel so that Link doesn't tire out too quickly while climbing.

Alternatively, players can shoot the Sticky Frogs with arrows and then collect them when they drop to the ground.

Another thing players will want to do is register the Sticky Frog to the Hyrule Compendium and the Sensor+. Both of these are unlocked after getting the Camera and the Auto-Build Ability, and then helping Robbie at Hateno Ancient Tech Lab. As long as the compendium registers the Sticky Frog, it can be tracked on the map screen with Y-button.

Kakariko Village

Kakariko Village is the best place to farm Sticky Frogs. They'll appear on the mountain sides along the Kakariko Village East Road (1953, -1115, 0132).

Other Sticky Frog spawns are on the mountains behind the Kakariko Village general store. Go to the following coordinates (or refer to the yellow cooking pot stickers on the above image):

  • 1939, -1117, 0136
  • 1750, -1098, 0135
  • 1956, -1024, 0142

Outskirt Stable Well

Players that head west may stumble upon the Outskirt Stable. Each Stable in Tears of the Kingdom has a well that Link can explore. The Outskirt Stable Well (-1429, -1293, 0012) is home to three Sticky Frogs. These frogs won't be stuck to walls, so walk slowly (crouch if necessary) or shoot them down.

Keep in mind that shooting one with an arrow will cause the others to start fleeing.

Lanayru Great Spring

Lastly, players can find Sticky Frogs in the Lanayru Great Spring area. There's a Sticky Frog by the East Reservoir Lake's waterfall (south) at coordinates 3329, -0305, 0022. Farming Sticky Frogs at the Lanayru Great Spring may be trickier because of the nearby monsters. If a monster makes too much noise, the frog will hop away.

Where to Use Sticky Frogs?

Sticky Frogs can be cooked with a Monster Part to create a Sticky Elixir. This will give Link slip-resistance when climbing wet or icy surfaces. Sticky Elixirs can be crafted from Sticky Frogs or Sticky Lizards. Between the two of them, the Sticky Frogs have the stronger effects.

Another way to use Sticky Frogs is to save them for armor upgrades. Players will need x5 Sticky Frogs for each piece of the Froggy Set. They're required from leveling up the Froggy Set to level 3. Since the Set Bonus is granted to Link when an armor set reaches level 2, players may not feel the need to expand on the Froggy Set. However, those that intend on maxing out all their armor will want to reserve some of the Sticky Frogs for upgrading this particular set.
