Once players eventually get hold of the iconic
Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, they will have the only weapon in the game that cannot permanently break. The Master Sword has been around for a very long time and is typically known to be the ultimate weapon that Link uses to defeat the final boss in every Zelda game, with most of the bosses being Ganondorf.
The Master Sword's in-game description reads, "The legendary sword that seals the darkness. Its corruption was healed by its time with the Light Dragon. The glade gleams with a sacred luster that can oppose the Demon King."
However, although the Master Sword cannot break, TotK players might need to learn how to recharge it, as it cannot be used repeatedly without taking a rest first.
How to Recharge the Master Sword in TotK
Over time, the Master Sword will make a message appear on-screen that lets players know that the weapon is running low on energy. If the sword keeps being used after the message shows up, the Master Sword will "break," but it'll come back to Link after recharging for about ten minutes. The weapon will disappear from the weapon hotbar, but if players open the menu with + and tab over to the Weapons section, the Master Sword will be there. A timer shows how long the sword needs until it's ready to be used again.
How to Get the Master Sword in TotK
There are three ways to get the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom:
- The first way is to head inside the Depths underneath the Great Deku Tree in Korok Forest.
- The second way is to view all the Memories by locating all 12 Tears from the Glyphs (Impa's Questline).
- Find the Light Dragon and pull the sword from its head.
It's also worth noting that in order to pull the sword from the dragon, players will need two full stamina wheels. Otherwise, Link will not have enough strength to perform the action.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
