In The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Bottles can be used to contain an assortment of liquids and other materials – including Fairies, which can completely revive Link from defeat. But apart from the first bottle, which Link acquires as part of the main story, finding all Bottles in Wind Waker requires you to go out of your way to specific locations throughout the Great Sea.

This guide explains how to find all four Killer Bee hide and seek locations in Zelda: The Wind Waker – and what you get for finding all hiding spots.

In total, there are four bottles in Wind Waker, a handful of which have hefty prerequisites, like finishing the Forsaken Fortress for the second time or having a huge number of Rupees. This guide explains how to get more bottles in The Wind Waker, details all four Empty Bottle locations, and provides a list of everything you can carry in an Empty Bottle in The Wind Waker.

What Can Bottles Contain In Wind Waker?

There are seven things that players can store in The Wind Waker bottles:

  • Water, which can be used to re-grow dormant flowers (like Bomb Flowers) and some other uses
    • Can be collected anywhere Link can stand in a body of water
  • Forest Water, which is used to revitalize Withered Trees throughout the Great Sea
    • Exclusively collected in the interior area with the Deku Tree in Forest Haven, but only lasts for 20 minutes
  • Red, Green, and Blue Potions, which fully restore Health, Magic, or both resources, respectively
    • Requires the respective ChuChu Jelly (Red, Green, Blue). Bring this to the Potion Shop on Windfall Island to turn it into a Potion.
  • Grandma's Soup (Elixir Soup), which fully restores Hearts, Magic, and gives you 2x damage until you take damage. Comes with two doses.
  • Forest Fireflies, which can be gifted to Lenzo on Windfall Island to turn the Picto Box into a Deluxe Picto Box
    • Can only be collected in Forest Haven, typically near the Deku Tree and the Forest Potion Shop
  • Fairies, which will fully restore your Hearts, either when used or automatically when you reach 0 Hearts

Where To Find All Bottles In The Wind Waker

Wind Waker Bottle Location #1: Dragon Roost Island

To get a bottle in The Wind Waker, progress through the main story until you get to Dragon Roost Island. Continue to follow the main quest until you redirect the wind to help Medli get up the broken ladder. After you throw Medli up, she will gift you a bottle, which is used to collect water and regrow some Bomb Flowers so Link can catch up.

What To Do With Knights Crest In Zelda: The Wind Waker

To get Knight's Crest, The Wind Waker players must defeat high-level enemies or look for them in certain chests.

To do this, you must learn the Wind's Requiem on an island just behind the main shore of Dragon Roost Island. Once you complete the Dragon Roost Cavern dungeon, Link keeps the bottle and can use it for the rest of the game.

Wind Waker Bottle Location #2: Bomb Island

The second Bottle location in The Wind Waker is on Bomb Island, which itself can be found on square F-5. Land on the island and look for an old man with a telescope. Point your camera in the direction he is looking through the telescope, then sail out until you find a Submarine filled with enemies.

Jump onto the Submarine and continue inside to face a few waves of enemies. Once you defeat every enemy inside, a ladder will drop down, and you will be able to open a chest to get the second bottle.

Wind Waker Bottle Location #3: Windfall Island

The third bottle location Wind Waker players can find is back on Windfall Island, but there's a catch. You must have progressed through the main story until the point that you return to the Forsaken Fortress for the second time. Defeat the final boss of the Forsaken Fortress (the Helmaroc King), confront Ganondorf, then return to Windfall Island after some story beats.

Use the Song of Passing to change the time to night, then look for a girl who is sneaking around. Talk to her, and she will tell Link to leave.

Zelda The Wind Waker Get Master Sword Location
How To Get The Master Sword In Zelda: The Wind Waker

To get the Master Sword, Zelda: The Wind Waker players must finish the game's third dungeon, then complete a puzzle.

Follow the girl, but not too closely. If you get caught following her, she will be alerted to your presence. Carefully dip from hiding spot to hiding spot until she reaches Zunari's shop, where you bought the Sail earlier in the game. When she opens the safe, confront her, select the first dialogue options when prompted, and she will eventually gift you the fourth and final Empty Bottle!

Wind Waker Bottle Location #4: Rock Spire Isle

The final, and arguably hardest, Empty Bottle The Wind Waker players can get is in the special Shop Ship near Rock Spire Isle. Rock Spire Isle, located on square B-3, is home to a unique and lavish Shop Ship that sells incredibly expensive but incredibly useful items in Wind Waker. Among "Beedle's" wares here is a Heart Piece, a Treasure Chart, and an Empty Bottle.

The Empty Bottle costs a huge 500 Rupees, so be sure to save up throughout your playthrough – and pick up at least one Wallet Upgrade so you can store that many Rupees. Look for the Shop Ship around this thin island in the north-west of the Great Sea to purchase the final bottle in Zelda: The Wind Waker.
