Hoyoverse’s new urban action RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, brings a new style of gameplay in comparison to their other popular games. Players take on the role of a Proxy who can easily navigate through Hollows - spaces which have a high concentration of Ether which can be harmful to citizens of New Eridu. Each Hollow has specific attributes it can be combated against and pulling for certain characters on banners can help with this.
Currently, Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) has a permanent banner and limited banner in Signal Search. The Stable Channel Signal Search is a permanent character banner and has six characters that players can get depending on their RNG luck. Since the game incorporates gacha, there is no guarantee of receiving a specific character on the permanent banner. However, when it comes to the Exclusive Channel Signal Search (limited banner), if players lose 50-50, they are guaranteed the featured 5- star character in the next sequence.

How To Test Limited Characters In Zenless Zone Zero
The only way to test limited characters in ZZZ is through the event page. This can be a little tricky to find, but it would be best to first advance through the main story and unlock most of the controls. Once this has been done, open the Main Menu/Pause Menu and click on the Events Page button. The events page is located towards the right of the screen, and you’ll be able to see the banner on the rotating billboard.
Another way to access it is by heading to the top right of the screen and clicking on the second icon in the list (F1 button on PC). You have 20 days to test and recruit any characters you’d like to join your team.
How To Unlock Training Mode In Zenless Zone Zero
A new feature that ZZZ has incorporated is the VR Device Training Mode. This allows players to test out a variety of Agents and learn how to properly use them. The VR Training Mode automatically unlocks once you progress through the first chapter of the main story and includes two modes: Free Training and Agent Academy. It will be accessible from the Random Play shop after completing the Combat Simulation at the Associations Center.
Additionally, there are two other methods in which players can also access the free training mode:
- Through the More button in the Main Menu. Just click the icon on the top left of the screen to access it.
- If you go to the character page and click on any of their Skills, right under the Core Skill switch you will see another button titled "Cooperation Exercise". Click on that to learn how the character works and how best to utilize them. Players should keep in mind that this will only work on characters that they own. Currently, there is no preview feature on characters that haven't joined the roster.
Zenless Zone Zero: Ellen Guide (Best Build, Weapon, Drive Disc, Skills, & Mindscape Cinema)
Ellen can dish out massive amounts of Ice Damage in Zenless Zone Zero thanks to her unique roaming mechanic and skills.
Free Training allows you to practice without any time constraints, whilst Agent Academy is more challenging and offers rewards upon completion. Agent Academy allows players to try out characters that you own and ones that are featured on the limited running banner.
How To Test Standard Characters In Zenless Zone Zero
When it comes to standard characters, players can easily access their trial mode through the Signal Search (Gacha Banner) page (F4 on PC). You can head straight to the permanent banner, and click on the button towards the bottom right. It will allow you to demo all the characters so that players can have a feel for each one depending on which one they get.
