A recent Zenless Zone Zero leak has revealed that the game's main characters will get customizable skins in Version 2.0. Zenless Zone Zero's next update coincides with its first anniversary, and players are looking forward to the commemorative rewards they might receive.

There are currently three character skins available in Zenless Zone Zero for Ellen Joe, Astra Yao, and Nicole Demara. The latter was given away for free as part of a limited event in Version 1.5. These skins are permanently available through Zenless Zone Zero's in-game store, but fans have been wondering when the game would add more similar cosmetics. Earlier leaks teased that four Zenless Zone Zero characters are getting skins in Version 2.0, including both the main characters. Now, a new report sheds some light on how the Proxies' skins would work.

Prominent leaker Seele Leaks has revealed that Belle and Wise's skins aren't fixed outfits, but can be customized instead. Per the leak, the Proxies' outfits can be tailored through a similar system to the 1.5 Bangboo fashion show event. In other words, players would have to obtain different clothes and accessories to give their protagonist a new look. The leak also shows a screenshot teasing 38 clothing pieces. Belle and Wise were previously seen wearing new Chinese-inspired attire in the latest trailer for Zenless Zone Zero Version 2.0, so there's a chance that their new customizable outfits could feature these elements.

In contrast to other popular HoYoverse protagonists, Zenless Zone Zero's Proxies stand out for being fully voiced and, most notably, not being playable in combat. Moreover, although fans have long requested skins for Genshin Impact's Traveler and Honkai: Star Rail's Trailblazer, these demands have never been addressed. With the rumored cosmetics for Belle and Wise, it seems Zenless Zone Zero's main characters will continue to receive special treatment. The upcoming 2.0 cycle is also expected to delve deeper into the Proxies' powers, as they enter a new area called Waifei Peninsula and meet new allies and enemies.

Version 2.0 will also mark Zenless Zone Zero's first anniversary, and the patch will likely feature special events to celebrate. The update is expected to launch in June as soon as Version 1.7 wraps up. HoYoverse has also confirmed that Zenless Zone Zero will land on Xbox consoles around the same time, and Game Pass Ultimate members will receive additional rewards.
