Zenless Zone Zero has officially revealed the signature W-Engine for upcoming S-Rank character Trigger, set to launch during the Version 1.6 update. The most recent update to the HoYoverse urban action RPG has introduced a plethora of new content to the game, ranging from new characters and bosses to a variety of events. The first half of Version 1.6 brought a new S-Rank version of starter character Anby alongside multiple new enemies, including upcoming character Hugo Vlad as the "Abyssal Enforcer" boss. Now, HoYoverse is gearing up to kick off the update's second half with lots more to come.

Zenless Zone Zero has already given fans a breakdown on what to expect from the second phase of the Version 1.6 update. Version 1.6's back half will introduce a new S-Rank character to the game with the release of Trigger, while Zhu Yuan will appear on her first re-run banner. Zenless Zone Zero will also introduce several smaller events, with the "Virtual World: Battle Storm" and "Little Knight's Big Charge" events set to run among others. Now, a new W-Engine has been officially revealed by HoYoverse.

Zenless Zone Zero first showed the signature W-Engine for Trigger Saturday morning through the game's official social media accounts. Trigger's W-Engine, dubbed "Spectral Gaze," features a base ATK value of 713 when fully upgraded to Level 60, with Crit Rate capping at 24% as its sub-stat. The W-Engine's effect, "Wind Seeker," shreds enemies' DEF when applying the Aftershock debuff, also granting a stacking "Spirit Lock" Impact buff if the equipper was not the active character when the DEF shred was applied. The equipped character also gains an additional Impact buff when at max Spirit Lock stacks.

W-Engine Effect: Wind Seeker: When the equipper hits an enemy with Aftershock, causing Electric DMG, the target's DEF is reduced by 25% for 5s. Passive effects of the same name do not stack. When this effect is triggered, if the equipper is not the active character, they gain 1 stack of Spirit Lock, up to a maximum of 3 stacks. This can trigger only once per use of a skill. Each stack of Spirit Lock increases the equipper's Impact by 4%, lasting 12s. The duration of each stack is calculated separately. At full stacks of Spirit Lock, the equipper's Impact increases by an additional 8%.

Trigger's signature W-Engine looks to further improve her synergy with Soldier 0 Anby as one of her ideal teammates. Trigger's role as a Stun unit and early reveals about her kit suggest she will be particularly proficient at applying Daze, with Soldier 0 Anby serving as a largely on-screen DPS character. Trigger's W-Engine buffing Aftershock will also be a boon to the S-Rank Anby, being heavily reliant on applying the powerful debuff. Trigger and her signature W-Engine will launch with the second half of Version 1.6, releasing on April 2.

The official reveals for Trigger's W-Engine come as HoYoverse has already started to tease fans about Zenless Zone Zero's next update. In the days leading up to Version 1.6's release, HoYoverse confirmed the two new characters debuting in the following Version 1.7, with Hugo and Vivian both set to star on the update's gacha banners. Hugo and Vivian previously appeared in Version 1.5's "The Day of Brilliant Wishes" event as rival Bangboo coordinators, while Hugo was also seen in Lycaon's Agent Story. Zenless Zone Zero looks to have lots in store for fans throughout its upcoming patches.
