Zenless Zone Zero has officially unveiled the first playable character coming to the game as part of the upcoming Version 2.1 update, teasing another new faction. The Version 2.0 update officially launched late last week to plenty of fanfare, bringing the newest district of New Eridu for players to explore alongside several other exciting changes. Zenless Zone Zero whisked players away to the Chinese-themed Waifei Peninsula, adding three new characters and bringing multiple new skins. Now, HoYoverse is showing off yet another new character set to join the roster in the near future.

HoYoverse has frequently given fans a teaser of new characters ahead of their official debut in Zenless Zone Zero, featured in different events. One of Version 2.0's spotlight characters was first introduced within Zenless Zone Zero as an NPC during Version 1.7, giving players an early chance to meet Yixuan within the urban action RPG. HoYoverse has often went the distance to promote its new characters, sometimes even going viral with its marketing like Version 1.2 character Burnice's "Burning Desires" music video. Zenless Zone Zero has now unveiled the first new character for the Waifei Peninsula's second update.

HoYoverse officially showed off Version 2.1's first featured character early Sunday morning, giving fans a first look at Ukinami Yuzuha. Yuzuha is introduced as a tanuki character, hinting at her as being a merchant in Porcelume Heights helping out with Uncle Baorong's store. Yuzuha is confirmed to be the first member of the Waifei Peninsula's second playable faction, introducing the "Spook Shack" to Zenless Zone Zero. Yuzuha's Attribute and Path were also revealed by HoYoverse, confirming she will debut as a Physical Support character.

Zenless Zone Zero Reveals First Version 2.1 Character

Yuzuha's addition to Zenless Zone Zero's roster comes as one of several new characters joining the game following the Waifei Peninsula's debut. The first half of Version 2.0 introduced Yixuan as its main featured character alongside Pan Yinhu as a four-star unit, while Ju Fufu will become playable during the patch's second half. Yuzuha's debut in Version 2.1 will also likely be joined by another new character, with Zenless Zone Zero updates typically adding two new S-Rank units. Zenless Zone Zero's Version 2.1 update is currently expected to launch on July 16.

Zenless Zone Zero's Version 2.0 update not only brought the Waifei Peninsula's debut, but also ushered in the game's first anniversary celebrations. HoYoverse rewarded players with a pair of free skins for both Belle and Wise, alongside several customizable accessories players can use to bling out their Proxies. The update brought with it plenty of new login reward campaigns as well, granting a plethora of Polychromes and Encrypted Master Tapes for fans to pull the game's new characters. Zenless Zone Zero looks to maintain its early Season 2 momentum with the Version 2.1 update.
