3 Hugo + Trigger + Lighter

To get the most out of Hugo’s Core passive buffs, players can include two Stun characters in his team. However, two Stun characters can’t work together in the same team since both have the same job. Unless that Stun character is Trigger in Zenless Zone Zero. Trigger is an amazing off-field character who deals a lot of Daze and Aftershock DMG. That allows her to be a great help to Lighter in quickly stunning enemies, on top of increasing enemies’ Stun DMG Multiplier, which further amplifies Hugo’s DPS.

On the other hand, when it comes to a solid Stun character to pair with Hugo, Lighter is definitely the best character for the job. Not only does his mere existence in the team greatly buff Hugo’s DMG, but he’s also specialized in buffing and debuffing Ice DMG, which is a great Support in Zenless Zone Zero.

Players who don't have Lighter can pair Pulchra with Trigger.

2 Hugo + Lighter + Astra Yao

In this Hugo team, Astra Yao plays as a Support instead of another Stun character. It’s a slight DPS loss for Hugo since he loses the two Stun characters’ buff from his Core passive. However, her Quick Assist gameplay makes up for that, as it allows Hugo and Lighter to synergize better. Players will continuously quick swap them, maximizing their abilities.

Lighter will keep stunning enemies and applying his Ice DMG buffs and debuffs, then Hugo will enter the field and remove their Stun status to deal massive DMG before leaving the field again for Lighter.

1 Hugo + Lycaon + Soukaku

This is an F2P Hugo team in Zenless Zone Zero. Lycaon and Soukaku can have Hugo as their DPS instead of Ellen, and they’ll give him the same benefits she had when she was the best DPS in Zenless Zone Zero. Other than being a Stun character, Lycaon’s Stun DMG Multiplier is massive and gives Hugo a window to deal some of the highest DMG in the game while also shredding enemies’ resistance to Ice.

On the other hand, Soukaku grants Hugo a decent ATK and Ice DMG buff, alongside quick swapping with her every time she finishes her rotation. It’s not as ideal as having Lighter and Trigger in the team, but still, Lycaon and Soukaku can create a very solid lineup for a Hugo F2P team in Zenless Zone Zero.
