Battlefield has always been, and always will be, the ultimate FPS based on content and in confident it'll not change.

I found it by accident, managed to bait the minotaurs and tame it.

Then, a spriggan appeared and I had to draw my sword. Then the unicorn became hostile again. Not worth the hassle.

It's a damn chore and way too punishing. Even the questline to find a cure for it isn't easy to find, and then THAT takes too long to do with far too many steps. I contracted vampirism within ten minutes of leaving the introductory quest because I had to audacity to try and explore a cave. Now I can't do anything unless it's dark out, which includes the absolutely ridiculous amount of travelling needed to find the cure. Loving the remaster for the most part but they've really screwed this bit up.

The carry forward system is a non issue for me, I'd just like a COD release I can play on launch day without needing a 70gb patch, or to wait until they've fixed issues with servers, UI e.t.c.

Can't remember the last cod game I bought that just worked on day one.

I cannot fathom why they choose to just ignore the glaring issues with basic functions and prioritise the gimmicky, tacky, abusively priced bundles instead. Like, at what point do we just start calling it Fortnite 2?

Saying that, fortnite actually works....

I agree with Jake, BF3 was probably the most fun I've had in the series. I remember queueing to get it at midnight and spending weeks playing nothing else.

Every battlefield since has just not had that same appeal for me. Still good games, mostly, but not quite enough to draw me back full time.

Call of duty edges it with annual releases and some genuinely fun arcade play, but the multiplayer aspects of late have been inconsistent and sometimes baffling. Not to mention the influx of cheaters, Fortnite style skins and weird bugs with every launch. Can't remember ever having a big issue with the BF series but that's probably because I haven't played in so long.

Hopefully the next one is the one, fingers crossed.

Grown man spending thousands to get early access to a game that'll retail for 60 quid and doesn't actually work for another 2 days.
